More Color Combinations from Myths & Magic Specialty Designer Series Paper

How can you NOT love the fun patterns and amazing colors in Stampin’ Up!’s Myths & Magic Specialty Designer Series Paper? Not only do the mythical patterns pop off the page with iridescent glitter designs (the glitter is secured on these pages!), but the images and colors are perfect together.

Over the past several months, I have shared a couple of cards that showcase the fun patterns in the Myths & Magic Specialty Designer Series Paper. One side of each page is themed with mythical creatures or characters of lore. The other side of each page features coordinated patterns for any occasion. My cards (so far) have showcased the patterns.

I often pull my colors right from the papers as a starter. That’s a huge benefit of our Designer Series Papers – they are designed with the amazing shades in our color families, so the pair perfectly with our cardstock, inks and accessories. Here’s a look at this pack of papers, which includes 12 12″ x 12″ sheets (2 each of 6 double-sided designs):

Myths & Magic Specialty Designer Series Paper, Stampin' Up!, Brian King 145600So cute, right?! This pack of super-fun pack of papers includes Basic Gray, Bermuda Bay, Berry Burst, Dapper Denim, Fresh Fig, Lemon Lime Twist, Melon Mambo, Old Olive, Pool Party, Powder Pink, Tangerine Tango, Tranquil Tide and Whisper White. Wow! What a fun mix and huge variety of colors!

I love how versatile these papers are – even if you don’t want to make a card themed around dragons or mermaids, you can always enjoy the patterns on the other side! Here’s are some cards I’ve made with the pages from the Myths & Magic Specialty Designer Series Paper (you can click on the photo to read the original post about each project):

I combined Powder Pink and Fresh Fig with a Sassy Heart and unicorn for a super-cute, girly card:

Magical Day, Happy Wishes, Stampin' Up!, Brian King, FabFri129 I combined Pool Party, Bermuda Bay and Pumpkin Pie and paired it with the knight for an adorable card that’s perfect for a boy of any age:

Magical Day, Badges & Banners, You're Delightful, Stampin' Up!, Brian King, FabFri131By the way, these are two of my all-time favorite cards. I was so happy with these when I was done – and both were for FabFriday sketches. <3

Today I’m going to share a couple more suggestions for pulling these colors right from the patterns in the Myths & Magic Specialty Designer Series Paper.

Straight from the Papers

These colors are combined from the colors exclusively in this pack of Myths & Magic Specialty Designer Series Paper:

Stampin' Up! Color Inspiration: Lemon Lime Twist, Old Olive, Dapper Denim Stampin' Up! Color Inspiration: Tangerine Tango, Bermuda Bay, Basic Gray Stampin' Up! Color Inspiration: Fresh Fig, Melon Mambo, Pool Party

Combined with Other Colors

By adding one other color to the shades in these patterns, you can really transform the feel of the Myths & Magic Specialty Designer Series Paper.  Here are some color combinations starters that feature two colors from this pack of papers and one color from outside the pack:

Stampin' Up! Color Inspiration: Powder Pink, Berry Burst, Island Indigo Stampin' Up! Color Inspiration: Lemon Lime Twist, Tranquil Tide, Early Espresso Stampin' Up! Color Inspiration: Real Red, Bermuda Bay, Dapper Denim

By limiting the colors you’ll use in a project (or expanding the colors to those outside a pack of papers), you can really find some beautiful color combinations for our projects. Here are some fun products that coordinate with the Myths & Magic Specialty Designer Series Paper:

I hope you find this helpful, I and I hope some of these combinations inspire you.  Please save any (or all of these) to Pinterest for future reference. To follow me on Pinterest, please click here: follow me on Pinterest.
