Make a Difference for CTS270

Stampin’ Up! kicked off an Early Release from the 2018 Annual Catalog this week – three bundles from the Share What You Love suite of products and one bundle of the new 2018-2020 In Color ink pads. How fun! Today’s card features the Share What You Love Specialty Designer Series Paper and the Make a Difference stamp set – a new stamp set that’s included in the “A Little More, Please” and “Gotta Have it All” Bundles. Here’s my card:

Tips, Tricks and Reminders

  • Make a Difference Photopolymer Stamp Set. The Make a Difference stamp set is a must-have. At first glance, it’s just “another sentiment builder” – but it’s so much more. Here’s a closer look at this amazing stamp set: Make a Difference, Stampin' Up!, 146676I love all of the “add-ons” beneath the letters – perfect for signing the back of a card or creating a sweet tag for a gift. On my card, I used the image of the flowers and the “made with love” sentiment (I masked out “made” to just leave “with love”). Sweet, huh? You aren’t limited to names, though – these letters can be combined to make great sentiments – like “congratulations” used in this card my Stampin’ Up! designers:Make a Difference Sample, Stampin' Up!, 146676
  • Building My Card. The retro sketch for this week’s challenge features three banners and a simple sentiment. I immediately knew I wanted to create the panels with three panels cropped from the band in the Petals & More Framelits Dies. After I assembled them all – two Crumb Cake bands with a Mossy Meadow band in the middle, I wasn’t happy. The ornate ends (which are beautiful) distracted from the background panel of Share What You Love Specialty Designer Series Paper in the background…so, I snipped off the ends and added just one Mossy Meadow panel with the ornate ends. Make a Difference, Stampin' Up!, Brian King, CTS270, Share What You Love Specialty Designer Series Paper, CTS270I stamped the sentiment and flowers with Archival Basic Black ink and colored the petals and leaves with a Blender Pen. Adding the Rich Razzleberry and Mossy Meadow tied the floral image to the background panel of paper.
  • Rich Color Combination. How happy are you to see Mossy Meadow again? It’s one of the returning colors in Stampin’ Up!’s Color Revamp (to read more, click here)? I’m over the moon! I love everything about this rich, deep green – and it pairs beautifully with colors from all color families. With inspiration from the Share What You Love Specialty Designer Series Paper, I combined Mossy Meadow with Crumb Cake and Rich Razzleberry. If you like this combination as much as I do, please save this:Stampin' Up! Color Inspiration: Crumb Cake, Mossy Meadow, Rich Razzleberry

  1. Such a pretty card Brian! I like how the white paper off sets the darker designer paper.

    • Thanks, Dawn! The paper is gorgeous and very rich. I really had to play with the panel size to let the DSP shine without taking too much from the focal panel. Glad you like it. <3
