A Bright and Cheery Celebration Card

It’s graduation time – today I’m sharing a fun, celebratory card I made for my cousin who just graduated from high school. Sarah is the youngest of my cousins – I wanted to make a bright and cheery card that’s full of the congratulations it offers. I reached for two of my favorite former In Colors to create this card for Sarah:

Calligraphy Essentials, Bunch of Blossoms, Stampin' Up!, Brian King, celebration card

Tips, Tricks and Reminders

  • Calligraphy Essentials. The Flirty Flamingo panel on this card is created by stamping “celebrate” from the Calligraphy Essentials multiple times. The stamp set coordinates with the Calligraphy Essentials Project Kit – with fun templates to master your calligraphy skills. The outlined sentiments in this set, though, work wonderfully on their own. Here’s a look at the Calligraphy Essentials stamp set: Calligraphy Essentials, Stampin' Up!, 146783If you are like me, you appreciate a beautiful handwriting – you’re going to want this set and the coordinating project kit. • June 1 Can’t Come Fast Enough. I’m so excited for June 1 – not only is it the first day we can buy brand new products from Stampin’ Up!’s 2018 Annual Catalog, but it’s the first day in a very long time that we can order two very exciting products we already love – Stampin’ Blends and the Stamparatus. Both are showcased on this card today. I colored the three rhinestones on this card with a Daffodil Delight Stampin’ Blend – Stampin’ Up!’s alcohol markers. Here’s a closer look at this element (the rhinestones are on the left side of this close-up photo): Calligraphy Essentials, Bunch of Blossoms, Stampin' Up!, Brian King, celebration cardI also used my Stamparatus to line up the “celebrate” sentiment over and over. With the removable hinge, I simply stamped with Flirty Flamingo, moved the platform down ones and stamped it again. Such a wonderful element of this handy tool! • Bright and Cheery Colors. There’s a sweetness to all three of these bright colors – Flirty Flamingo, Coastal Cabana and Daffodil Delight. Together, they are a perfect trio that screams “celebration!” If you love this combination of colors as much as I do, please save this:Stampin' Up! 1. Another great color combination. So glad Coastal Cabana is back!

  2. Today I make a graduation card (among others). I also have my eye on the calligraphy stamp set! Really pretty card!!

    • Thanks, Candy! My goad was to make a graduation card that doesn’t say “graduation” on it – I think this is fun and happy. <3 Have fun with your card making today!

  3. Love this simple style and combination of splashy colors. Cool Daffodil Delight rhinestones!

  4. Love this bright color combo, Brian. The stamped background with all the layers and bling of the rhinestones really makes a great graduation card. I’m sure you had fun using the stamparatus. Have a great day!

    • Thanks so much, HJ! It was exciting to pull this together. Wasn’t sure where the background would lead, but I’m happy with how it all came together. <3

What a nice card Brian! I love the colors you use that I can’t seem to come up with on my own šŸ™‚ I didn’t see the cherry you mentioned. Is it inside? Have a great relaxing Sunday!

    • AH! You got me! I looked all around to find “cherry” in the post and noted it was in the title. That’s supposed to be “cheery”. Thanks for the heads up – and thanks for your kind comments! <3

  6. I have a feeling this Calligraphy stamp set is going to be a best seller. How can anyone resist such a gorgeous font? I also have to admit that the Stamparatus has a huge advantage over all the other placement devices with its hinged, movable plates. I think it’s a must have. You’re beautiful card today proves that. Great job Brian, as always.

  7. Great card Brian. Iā€™m sure your cousin will love it.

  8. Fun card…I like the celebrate background you made!

  9. Love how you made it a graduation card with “style”. Love the color combo, it’s channeling my love for “Lilly”. Another Brian save for my CASEing.
So glad Coastal Cabana is back and Flirty Flamingo is staying.

    Thanks for sharing Brian!
