Many of my Stampin’ Up! team members (not only those with blogs) share their gorgeous projects in our team’s Facebook community – there’s such amazing and inspiring creativity in this group! I’m always excited when my team’s blog hop rolls around, though, because I get to share some of their amazing work with you. I’m just as excited to see their projects as you are, and I am proud to share them with you.
Welcome to InKing Royalty’s June Blog Hop! This year’s Blog Hop themes are inspired by popular songs – this month’s song is “Here Comes the Sun.” As you can guess, our Blog Hop today is jam-packed with projects that are inspired by the joy of the summer sun. We are excited to share our creations with you today! After you read my post, I hope you’ll hop over to the next person on the list at the base of this post.
When I think of sunshine, I think of…wait for it…wait for it…yellow. Brilliant, huh? The new Pineapple Punch, a 2018-2020 In Color, is packed with an amazing concentration of sunshine. That’s why I reached for three Pineapple Punch products to create this card for today’s blog hop:
- Bouquet Blooms & Dandelion Wishes. My card features two new stamp sets from Stampin’ Up!’s 2018 Annual Catalog – the circular burst is from Bouquet Blooms, and the sentiment is from Dandelion Wishes. Both are wonderful. I stamped the circular burst with Pineapple Punch ink. The stamp set includes photopolymer stamps, so they are easy to line up and stamp down. Here’s a look at the Bouquet Blooms stamp set (while it’s offered as a bundle, I only used the stamp here): I stamped the sentiment with black ink on Pineapple Punch cardstock, punched it out with my 2″ Circle punch and popped it up with Stampin’ Dimensionals. Here’s a look at the Dandelion Wishes stamp set:
- A Stitched Detail. I mounted my Whisper White panel on a Night of Navy frame, leaving a little more blue on the left side. Before gluing down the white panel, I added a cross-stitched border with one of the edgelits dies from the Stitched Labels Framelits Dies (it’s the one on the bottom, right of this picture): The edgelits die adds a unique element to this simple card – I simply ran it through my Big Shot with the Magnetic Platform, cutting plate, cardstock, die, and another cutting plate (similar to a Framelit). I imagine it’s supposed to be used with the Precision Base Plate, but I didn’t want to reach for mine (LAZY) and gave this a try. Worked like a gem! Here’s a look at the Stitched Labels Framelits Dies:
- Tall & Thin. I wanted to make a card with a unique shape for this uplifting burst of sunshine, so I trimmed off the edges to make a tall, thin card. The card base is 3-3/4″ x 11″, scored at 5-1/2″. It’s not THAT different, but it’s different enough. π I love this shape because it can still fit in a standard envelope, but it’s a new look.
Stamp Sets: Bouquet Blooms, Dandelion Wishes Papers: Night of Navy, Pineapple Punch, 2018-2020 In Color 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper (Pineapple Punch), Whisper White Inks: Pineapple Punch, black Accessories: Stitched Labels Framelits Dies, 2″ Circle punch, Stampin’ Dimensionals

Oh WOW!! Brian, this card is illuminating my day, which is so gray and cloudy right now at 5:30 am.
Bright and cheerful and a beautiful way to send some sunny and warm wishes to someone special.
Love, LOVE the starred edge, this die set is a must-have, love all of the beautifully stitched decorated images.
Thank you for bringing a bit of sunshine to my morning.
XO
Maria.
Thanks so much for your sweet message, Maria! I’m so happy you can feel the joy I put into this card. <3 Hope the rest of your day is wonderful!
I love the side with the Night of Navy
Thanks so much – that border just happened by playing around with my dies. π Glad you like it.
When I first saw pineapple punch, I said wow! What a wonderful yellow.
This color will brighten up any card, but for sure paired with Night of Navy. Dandelion Wishes has to be added to my wishlist! Thanks Brian
The contrast is pretty powerful, isn’t it? I’m in love with this yellow. Thanks for your comments, Katrina! Always nice to hear from you. <3
What a bright, sunny fun card. You used one of my favorite color combinations, yellow and navy. Great job Brian
Thanks, Robbye! I’m so glad you like it! <3
The perfect creative sunshine. My eye zoomed right in to the die cut stitching. Such a lovely touch!
Thanks so much, Mary! I had fun with this card – lots of great, new supplies to play with. <3
This card will definitely make someone feel better! Beautiful card Brian, so bright and sunny.
Thanks, Dawn! I love a good pick-me-up. <3
Now I have βHere Comes the Sunβ (Beatles) stuck in my head for the rest of the day! Pretty card!
Thanks, Linda! There are worse songs to get stuck in your head, right? π
While I have 2, I donβt use the precision base plate. I always make the same sandwich you made. I love your sun and edge! Dandelion Wishes is already on my list. Beautiful card!
The plate works wonderfully with larger Thinlits – and the pieces just pop out. Laziness kept me from it this time. π Thanks, Sue! <3
I use the dryer sheet method. I wound up warping my plates when I used the precision plate. I’ll have to try again. Thanks!
Love Pineapple Punch and the sun you created on your card plus the Navy stitching is perfect! Great card!
Thanks so much, Windy! Lots of fun elements to work with – the joy of a new catalog. <3
Brian, I love the way you design your cards! Your simple layered card lets all the elements shine. Love that cross stitched die!
Thanks so much, Robin! I really appreciate that. <3
The camera angle with which you captured this card really makes the skinnier design look really tall and very distinguished. I love these colors, the cross-stitched die, the rays around the sun and the font of the sweet sentiment…Let’s see, yes, that is everything. Great job! I know you had fun putting it all together. It seems the older we get, the more we need uplifting cards. Thanks for this great design. Enjoy your day!
Thanks so much, HJ! I’m so glad you like the card – the photographs always look taller and bigger than the actual card. π Appreciate all your kind feedback. <3
Love this card, Brian, and the feeling it invokes!
Thanks so much, Julie! I love this bright-and-cheery Pineapple Punch. <3
Oh that Pineapple Punch yellow! I fell in love with that yellow the first time I saw it! How could anyone not smile when they receive a card made with that bright, happy and oh so summery color? You’re card is gorgeous and that framelits die added a ton of pizzazz to the beautiful coordinating Night of Navy card stock. You went over the hill with this one Brian! Can you tell I’m smiling from ear to ear? π
Thanks so much, Grace! I’m so glad you have all of these elements that came together to make this card. I am thrilled that it makes you smile. π
This is such a wonderful card! And the stitched edge is what makes it over the top. You always have the perfect “little something extra” that works so well.
Thanks so much, Jackie! I’m glad you like it. I appreciate your comments! <3
This card would bring sunshine to anyone! I love all the details and the bright yellow!
Awww…thanks so much, Denise! <3
So many perfect details! Love, love, love it, B!
Thanks so much, my friend! <3
Beautiful, bright and sunny card! Such a fun hop today…Thank you!
Love the Pineapple ? Punch with the Night of Navy, Brian. I also like the idea of your card size!
Thanks so much, Suzie! I adore the combination, too! Glad you like the card. <3
So much to love about this card! Itβs a perfect pick me up with that gorgeous pineapple punch. You have highlighted so many sets that are now on my wish list, especially those dies, swoon!
Yay! Thanks so much, Sheryl! I’m so glad you like the card – each of the elements shines because it’s so simple. <3 I must admit - the dies are pretty cool!
Brian, I love how you created the big beautiful sun. The sentiment is perfect. Such a pretty font. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks so much, Imogene! So happy to share. <3
I love the big, beautiful sun and that fantastic stitched edge is the icing on the cake! Beautiful!
Thanks so much, Nina! I’m glad you like it. I love both of these elements – together they made me so happy. <3
