Little Elephant for CTS277

Do you ever need a cute card that just says “I’m thinking about you” or “You’re on my mind” without being heavy or solemn? For this week’s CAS(E) This Sketch challenge, I created a sweet card with a cute elephant that says “I’ll forget you not.” This week’s sketch was fun to play with – as was the new Little Elephant Bundle. Here’s my card:

CTS277Tips, Tricks and Reminders

  • Little Elephant Bundle. Little Elephant was not on my initial wish list from Stampin’ Up!’s 2018 Annual Catalog – until Mary Fish got her claws in me. With the release of every book, Mary and I flip through every page together, pointing out the many things we love and handful of the things that leave us wanting a little more. It wasn’t until I heard Mary’s enthusiasm for this bundle that I gave it another look. I’m glad I did – because these little guys are adorable! • Layering the Little Elephant. While the dotted trim (stamped with Daffodil Delight ink and the Detailed with Love stamp set) and sentiment fulfill the elements of the sketch, the elephant is my “creative license addition.”  I stamped the smaller elephant with Smoky Slate on Thick Whisper White and punched him out with the punch. I cleaned the stamp off, stamped the image again in Balmy Blue and punched the ear with the punch. I added a tiny Flirty Flamingo heart from the Cookie Cutter Builder Punch – all of this blue, yellow and gray needed a little pink, right? • Sweet Colors. This card has all the elements of a baby card – except for the sentiment. The colors are so sweet together and are just as appropriate for a baby card as a “thinking about you” card. There are three elements of Balmy Blue on this card – cardstock framing the layers, a piece of Tranquil Textures Designer Series Paper and ink on the sentiment and elephant’s ear. Mmmm, elephant’s ear. If you like this combination of Daffodil Delight, Balmy Blue and Smoky Slate, please save this:Stampin' Up! Color Inspiration: Daffodil Delight, Balmy Blue, Smoky Slate

  4. This has to be the sweetest card Iโ€™ve seen in a bit. With a different sentiment it would be perfect to include with a gift for a new baby boy, change the ear color baby girl. Awesome job Brian, I truly love this.

Now that is just the cutest dang elephant ever! I mean really – you just gotta love that “plaid” ear. The color choices are absolutely fabulous and I’m so glad you left the white space at the bottom as it really allows your eye to concentrate of all the cuteness. So sweet, so imaginative, so perfect! Love it!

  10. Love the Balmy Blue with the Grey, Sweet Card. I purchased all the new ink pads now itโ€™s the cardstockโ€™s turn. Looking forward to the Balmy Blue!

    • It’s a great color, isn’t it?! The color packs are a great way to get some of all of the colors quickly – a couple of those, and you are good to go. ๐Ÿ™‚

  11. So cute! This clean layout is perfect for this set.

  12. Super sweet take on the sketch!

  13. Such a sweet card. That sentiment deserves a big awwwww! I love the colors and I’m glad to hear that you like the Balmy Blue …but my heart belongs to Baja Breeze. (Still haven’t forgiven SU for dropping it)!!!!

    • Jen, I went through a long period of sadness when Baja Breeze was discontinued – glad to see I wasn’t alone in my grief. I LOVED Soft Sky, too, but I was more prepared for it to go with so many wonderful, new colors coming in to distract me. ๐Ÿ™‚ Thanks for your sweet comments. <3

  14. Omg…..sweetest card ever! How did I miss it?
