Across the Miles for CTS280

This week’s CAS(E) This Sketch layout is wonderful – a simple band with a sentiment. The sketch by Chrissy Larson features arrow images across the length of the card with a fun sentiment in the middle. You don’t have to use arrows to be inspired by the sketch – in fact, I didn’t add anything to this Best Route Designer Series Paper because it already has so much life of its own. Here’s my card:

CTS280Tips, Tricks and Reminders

  • Best Route. I adore the Best Route Designer Series Paper – it’s bright, cheery and fun. The blues, grays and yellows are perfect for masculine cards – but they aren’t, at all, limited to guy cards. These two pages show the street grids of a town (I can’t know which town) – one in two shades of Gray Granite and one in a mix of Blueberry Bushel and Whisper White. Together, they are brilliant! Here’s a look at the colors and patterns in Best Route Designer Series Paper: Best Route Designer Series Paper, Stampin' Up! 146897I couldn’t just make one card with these papers – while I had the papers out, I went ahead and cut an alternate view of the same card – here’s a comparison of the two cards I created with the same stamp set and Best Route Designer Series Papers::Lift Me Up, Best Route Designer Series Paper, Stampin' Up!, Brian King
  • More Good News about Best Route. The Best Route Designer Series Paper, featured in these cards, is one of ten packs of Designer Series Papers in Stampin’ Up!’s “Buy 3, Get 1 FREE” promotion in July. I picked up several packs of this paper – I know I’ll be using lots of it. 🙂 There’s no better time to stock up! • Lift Me Up, Embossed. There are lots of great sentiments in the En Route stamp set that coordinates with the Best Route Designer Series Paper. The maps, though, inspired me to reach for a fun stamp from the Lift Me Up stamp set – “Sending smiles across the miles.” A perfect fit, don’t you think? Here’s a look at the Lift Me Up stamp set: Lift Me Up, Stampin' Up!, 142896To add a special touch to a simple card, I decided to heat emboss the sentiment before punching it out with the Tailored Tag punch. Stampin’ Up! introduced embossing powders in all of the 2018-2020 In Colors – I couldn’t help but to reach for the Blueberry Bushel Embossing powder for this project. Here’s a look at this fun, new product:2018-2020 In Color Stampin' Emboss Powders, Stampin' Up!, 146955

I hope you’ll pop over to the CAS(E) This Sketch site to see the cards by the design team members and to play along with this week’s challenge. This challenge goes live at 10am EST.
