There’s a sweet-and-simple sketch this week at CAS(E) This Sketch, so I’ve made a sweet-and-simple card with a wonderful, new stamp set. Falling for Leaves is one of several Fall-themed stamp sets in Stampin’ Up!’s 2018 Holiday Catalog (customers can order from the new catalog starting September 5), and there’s so much to love about it. Here’s my card:
- Falling for Leaves Bundle. The Falling for Leaves Bundle is amazing – you’ll be falling for these leaves this Fall (see what I did there?) Not only does the Falling for Leaves stamp set features some great sentiments (I LOVE the styling of this “Thinking of you with a grateful heart” sentiment) and fun, modern images of a variety of leaves, but the coordinating Detailed Leaves Thinlits Dies are a perfect accompaniment. Here’s a look at this bundle: I’ve always thought that leaf sets have a fixed life, thinking they are only good in Autumn. While it’s certainly true that we think of leaves when they change color and Fall, I always find that I use leaves for a variety of projects throughout the year.
- Double-Dipping. The elements of this card sat on my craft table for a couple of days before I made a last-minute update and glued everything down. I LOVE the gorgeous cutouts of the Detailed Leaves Thinlits Dies, but I wanted something a little more special. I thought about adding some ink to the leaves to add texture and then rolled my eyes at the idea – I just didn’t want to go there (although I may still go there with a similar project). I had my Subtle Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder out from another project and decided that would give me what I wanted. I ran the cropped leaves through the Big Shot to get this:
- Soft Colors for Fall. Crumb Cake is a perfect brown for Fall – I’m already using it more and more each day. The other colors – Pear Pizzazz and Grapefruit Grove – are less Fall-like, but I love their softness and sweetness on this Fall-themed card. If you like this combination of Pear Pizzazz, Crumb Cake and Grapefruit Grove, please save this:
Bundles: Falling for Leaves Stamp Sets: Falling for Leaves Papers: Crumb Cake, Basic Black, Very Vanilla, Pear Pizzazz, Grapefruit Grove Inks: Basic Black Accessories: Detailed Leaves Thinlits Dies, Subtle Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder, Stampin’ Dimensionals
I hope you’ll pop over to the CAS(E) This Sketch site to see the cards by the design team members and to play along with this week’s challenge. The challenge goes live at 10am EST.
Thanks for stopping by today!
