Star of Wonder for CTS289

Sometimes I wish I weren’t so particular. Today’s card underwent three “final” versions before arriving at this fourth one. My Christmas card features products from Stampin’ Up!’s 2018 Annual Catalog – with one exception. The star of the show (pun intended) is cropped from the Joyous Noel 6″ x 6″ Glimmer Paper, a new pack glimmer paper from Stampin’ Up!’s 2018 Holiday Catalog. Here’s my card which is inspired by a CAS(E) This Sketch challenge:

CTS_289Tips, Tricks and Reminders

  • Star of Wonder. I used one stamp set and one set of dies for this card – both are in Stampin’ Up!’s 2018 Annual Catalog. The cityscape of Bethlehem and star are found in the Bethlehem Edgelits Dies – the dies coordinate with the Night in Bethlehem stamp set, but I did not use that set here. While the dies are designed to layer with each other (and look great when they are), I only used select images from the smaller die. Here’s a look at the Bethlehem Edgelits Dies:  Bethlehem Edgelits Dies, Stampin' Up! 144676The sentiment is pulled from the Star of Wonder stamp set, which coordinates with the Starlight Thinlits Dies. Here’s a look at that set:Star of Light, Stampin' Up!, 142210
  • Copper. I wish I could just mail this card around to each every one of you so you could see it for yourself. There’s no photograph that can capture the shimmer of the Copper Glimmer on this star. The star of this show is the copper star I cropped with the Joyous Noel 6″ x 6″ Glimmer Paper. That’s right – I used Glimmer Paper, and this paper didn’t shed all over the place. Gotta love that! 🙂 Here’s a closer look at this star on my project:Bethlehem Edgelits Dies, Star of Light, Stampin' Up!, Brian KingHere’s a look at the beautiful colors (Copper, Merry Merlot and Tranquil Tide) in this pack of 6″ x 6″ Glimmer Papers:Joyous Noel 6" x 6" Glimmer Paper, Stampin' Up! 147817
  • Twinkle Twinkle. I’m sometimes wrong. I know, it’s hard to believe. When Stampin’ Up!’s 2018 Annual Catalog was released, I wasn’t convinced I would use the Twinkle Twinkle Designer Series Paper very much, but I got it anyway. I’ve since ordered multiple packs! Of all the patterns in this pack of papers, I love this starry night background the most. I’ve used it on inspirational cards, Halloween cards and now a Christmas card. How lovely is this watercolored background?! Here’s a look at the colors and patterns in the Twinkle Twinkle Designer Series Paper:Twinkle Twinkle Designer Series Paper, Stampin' Up!, 146284
