Many Blessings for CTS290

I love the simplicity of this week’s CAS(E) This Sketch challenge – some bands and a sentiment. Simple! It gave me the opportunity to design with warm colors and a sweet stamp set I had not yet inked up. Here’s my sweet-and-simple card for this week’s challenge:

Tips, Tricks and Reminders

  • Many Blessings. When demonstrators reach $1 million in personal sales (an absolutely incredible feat), Stampin’ Up! honors the demonstrator with a stamp set that the demonstrator helps to design. When Ruth Snyder reached $1 million last year, she worked with Stampin’ Up! to design Many Blessings. Here’s a look at her stamp set that takes us through the Fall holidays:Many Blessings, Stampin' Up! 147775I adore this jar of sunflowers – such a perfect image for fall. The crate of pumpkins and jar of candy canes are also fun images for the Fall holidays.
  • Coloring and Cutting. I stamped this arrangement of flowers on Thick Whisper White cardstock with Memento Tuxedo Black ink. once the ink dried, I used Stampin’ Blends (a mix of Crumb Cake, Daffodil Delight, Old Olive and Soft Suede) Markers to color the images. Not a lot of blending here – just straight coloring – with one exception. I colored the clay jar with a Light Crumb Cake Stampin’ Blends Marker and then added a little texture by painting over the Crumb Cake with my Color Lifter. Gave it a rustic appeal. Many Blessings, Stampin' Up!, Brian KingSince this stamp set doesn’t have an accompanying punch or dies, I ran it through my Brother Scan-n-Cut to give it the small borders around the image. I love to snip, but I knew I wasn’t going to be able to get into all the nooks and crannies of these flowers. I love the pop of this pot of flowers against the bold stripes.
  • Autumn Color Combination. The CAS(E) This Sketch challenge gives us bold stripes as the base for our design. I decided to create three warm stripes that would beautifully support the yellow flowers in the Many Blessings stamp set. Many Blessings, Stampin' Up!, Brian KingIs there are warmer, more appropriate combination than Cajun Craze, Crumb Cake and Soft Suede and Cajun Craze?
