Kindness & Compassion Notecards: part 2

On Wednesday I shared a project I made for the Be Inspired Blog Hop. The hop showcases projects that center around sympathy and get well wishes, two of the hardest cards to make. My project is a pack of notecards (with a beautiful note card box) that’s a thoughtful gift to someone who’s lost a loved one so that they can thank those who supported them during their time of grief.

My post from Wednesday focuses on the project as a whole and the super-elegant box I made to house the gift. Because I didn’t really focus on the simple cards (and because I received many requests for more information), I thought I’d give you a closer look at the individual cards today. It’s the least I could do, right? Before I jump in, here’s a quick look at the entire project from Wednesday:

Today I want to share a closer look at each of these cards (three designs) and give you the products and dimensions for each. It’s just the kind of person I am. <3 First, I hope you’ll take another look at the beautiful and powerful sentiments in the Kindness & Compassion stamp set:

Kindness & Compassion, Stampin' Up! 146729The first card is a gorgeous blend of two panels of the Joyous Noel Specialty Designer Series Paper. The blend of this Merry Merlot print and the Gray Granite strip with copper foil branches is both beautiful and soothing. Anyone would be happy to send this simple, gorgeous card:

Kindess & Compassion Card Measurements, Stampin' Up!, Brian KingWhile the second card features a sentiment that was likely meant for the inside of a card, it’s gorgeous on the outside. The sentiment, framed with a thin border of Tranquil Tide and a small band of Gray Granite cardstock looks great against he panel of Tranquil Tide leaves and copper foil branches.

Kindess & Compassion Card Measurements, Stampin' Up!, Brian KingThe third card is appropriate for someone who wants to say thank you for support during a difficult time, but it’s something they can use at any time of the year, as well. The simple (and beautiful) “thank you” sentiment is stamped with Tranquil Tide ink on Thick Whisper White cardstock is punched with the Tailored Tag punch.

Kindess & Compassion Card Measurements, Stampin' Up!, Brian KingIf you missed my post on Wednesday, I hope you’ll pop over to see the box I made to house multiples of these cards. You can see that post here.

  3. This set of cards would be such a help to those left behind when facing what can be a heartbreaking chore. Such a sincere, thoughtful and special gift. Thank you Brian.

    • Thanks, Grace! I sent these to a friend who lost her adult daughter. I can’t imagine how difficult it must be to send out thank you notes in a time like that. <3

  4. What a lovely, thoughtful gift.

  5. Wonderful close-up of the card. Lovely details and beautiful mix of fonts on the sentiment.

  6. Again, this is a wonderful set of cards. Thanks for the info on making them. I guess I didn’t even realize they were the notecards but that is just fine too.
I have been asked to have a “class” of holiday cards for some people who have never stamped before. I am wondering if these would be a great idea and just change the sentiment out for a holiday greeting. The ladies are 60-80+ in age. The DSP is just so pretty and the layers just add that much more. Another thing to ponder. Thanks Brian.

  7. Brian,I appreciate the details, thank you.
