Fa La La for CTS292

This week, CAS(E) This Sketch is featuring a sketch I submitted to the team. It’s a simple sketch with a pairing of unique elements – a vertical sentiment and an odd-shaped banner. You can change this up however you like – it’s just meant to be inspiration for a project. While many of the design team members have found unique ways to incorporate these elements into their amazing designs, I followed the sketch pretty closely. Here’s my card for this week’s challenge:

Sincerely Santa, Stampin' Up!, Brian King, Christmas card

And here’s the banner for the challenge that inspired my card (this challenge will be live at 10am EST):

CTS292Tips, Tricks and Reminders

  • Sincerely Santa. How fun is this Fa La La sentiment? I’ve been wanting to feature this festive trio on a card – and this sketch gave me a perfect reason to ink it up. The Sincerely Santa stamp set (say that five times fast!) features some great sentiments that are perfect for your Christmas projects – here’s a look:Sincerely Santa, Stampin' Up!, 148929How perfect are these for your Christmas tags?! That’s a good thing because the stamp set coordinates with the Sincerely Santa Project Kit that gives us supplies for 30 tags. If you’d like to learn more about this project kit, click here.
  • The Banner. To create my banner, I marked a piece of Festive Farmhouse Designer Series Paper to cut my angled banner. It’s a unique shape that you can’t get wrong. I cropped the end of the banner with the Banner Triple Punch and snipped it along the edge of the top card panel. I also added a small Cherry Cobbler banner (also snipped with the Triple Banner punch). Here’s a closer look:Sincerely Santa, Stampin' Up!, Brian King, Christmas card
  • A Rich Christmas Color Combination. The green and red for this card are pulled right from the Festive Farmhouse Designer Series Paper. I’m so happy Mossy Meadow is back – it’s such a gorgeous green and works perfectly for Christmas colors. Here’s a look at the colors and patterns in the Festive Farmhouse Designer Series Paper:Festive Farmhouse Designer Series Paper, Stampin' Up! 147820This pack of papers doesn’t include Crumb Cake, but it’s not a stretch to add this versatile neutral to the mix of green and red.
