Dashing Deer for FabFri149

It’s that time of year when every sketch looks like a beautiful Christmas card to me. 🙂 For the FabFriday challenge that kicks off today, I may have stretched the sketch a bit, but I couldn’t help but to be inspired to make this card:

Dashing Deer, Festive Farmhouse Designer Series Paper, Stampin' Up!, Brian King, Christmas card

And here’s the sketch for the FabFri149 challenge that inspired my card:

Tips, Tricks and Reminders

  • Dashing Deer. Oh, how I love a deer with gorgeous antlers – like the deer that pass through my yard, this one isn’t letting the grass grow under his feet. He’s leaping and moving fast. What a wonderful accent for a simple card! The Dashing Deer stamp set is designed with some great sentiments that are mostly focused on “Christmas thank yous.” I love this Many Merry Thanks sentiment – what a perfect way to use up your supply of beautiful papers for after-Christmas thank you notes.  Dashing Deer, Festive Farmhouse Designer Series Paper, Stampin' Up!, Brian King, Christmas cardHow gorgeous is that die-cut deer? Just look at the detail in his antlers. The other images in this set are just as beautiful. • Festive Farmhouse. Festive Farmhouse Designer Series Paper is unique – the gorgeous Christmas-themed papers include a mix of Whisper White and Very Vanilla pages. It’s amazing how much warmth can be added to a project by switching from Whisper White to Vanilla. Love that this pack gives us both. Here’s a look at the colors and patterns in the Festive Farmhouse Designer Series Paper:Festive Farmhouse Designer Series Paper, Stampin' Up! 147820While I love the plaids and patterns in this pack of papers (I’ve used all of them), this page of Christmas sentiments is a standout. What a great backdrop for my festive card! I’ve shared several other projects with this pack of papers and offered some color combinations with these pages. If you’d like to read more, click here.
  • Rich Color Combination. I often reach for Soft Suede over Early Espresso because Early Espresso (as lovely as it is) shows up as black in pictures. The more I use Soft Suede, though, the more I love it. This combination of Soft Suede with Cherry Cobbler and Very Vanilla is so warm and classy. If you like this combination as much as I do, please save this:Stampin' Up! Color Inspiration - Very Vanilla, Soft Suede, Cherry Cobbler
