Little Tree with Snow is Glistening

Today I’m sharing a sweet-and-simple 3″ x 3″ card I made last week. The card features Coastal Cabana, a sweet tree and a simple sentiment. The sentiment is perfect for the gift that accompanies this card (I’ll share the gift in a post tomorrow). Here’s my simple card with a fun design:

Tips, Tricks and Reminders

  • Snow is Glistening. I told you the card is simple (and it is), but there’s a super-fun twist there. I stamped the triangular tree from the Snow is Glistening stamp set with Coastal Cabana ink on Thick Whisper White cardstock. Here’s a look at this incredible stamp set (available in November or while supplies last):Snow is Glistening, Stampin' Up!, 149742After I stamped the tree, I cropped a smaller tree with one of the Framelits from Sweetly Stitched Framelits (that coordinate with the Nothing Sweeter Bundle) – here’s a look at this bundle: Nothing Sweeter Bundle, Stampin' Up! 149955
  • Another Bundle. The “Something sweet to eat” doesn’t make a whole lot of sense – especially with this stand-alone card with a snowflake Christmas tree. Who’s going to eat that?! The Takeout Treats stamp set, though, gave me exactly what I wanted when I made this card. How’s that? The simple card will accompany a delicious gift that I will share with you tomorrow. How fun is that?! Here’s a look at the must-have Takeout Treats Bundle:Takeout Treats Bundle, Stampin' Up! 149990
  • More with the Tree. I may be obsessed with finding creative and fun ways to showcase the flurry of snowflakes in this big tree in Snow is Glistening. I love it, and I love to play with it. Earlier this week I shared a card that showcases this image as a background panel (you can see that post here). On the card above, I cropped the inside for a different look. Oh, but it doesn’t stop there. I also decorated the flap of this 3″ x 3″ envelope with the same stamp for a fun look:Snow is Glistening, Takeout Treats, Sweetly Stitched Framelits, Stampin' Up!, Brian King

Stamp Sets: Snow is Glistening, Takeout Treats  Papers: Coastal Cabana, Thick Whisper White  Inks: Coastal Cabana, Basic Black Accessories: Sweetly Stitched Framelits Dies, Whisper White 3″ x 3″ Envelopes, Stampin’ Dimensionals

As I mention above, this card accompanies a sweet gift – I’m sharing that on Tuesday. I hope you’ll come back!

Thanks for stopping by today!

  1. I love these little 3×3 note cards, they are perfect to tuck in lunch boxes or back packs and certainly, to accompany a sweet gift too.
This little tree look like a sugar cookie beautifully decorated so, is your gift a bag of cookies or some other sweet goodies?
I’ll patiently wait till tomorrow to find out.
    Hugs.

  2. So cute! Can’t wait to see the treat. You’ve been very successful in building suspense!

  5. So, funny story! I am so excited about going to Orlando this week and I was thinking yesterday when reading your blog about how the first time I saw you it was in Salt Lake City at the SU! Convention and I think you were demonstrating how to make a Halloween banner. Well, last night I had a dream that an announcement came over my high school’s (where I counsel) intercom that Brian King would be having a demonstration in the Media City but I thought they said Brian Keller(a teacher at our school), so I didn’t go! Well, in my dream a friend came up and said, “I can’t believe you didn’t go see Brian King demonstrate cards in the Media Center” And I was like, “WHAT? Oh, no!” and I ran down there to find you but you had left! And I was so sad! Haha! I hope that I get to see one of your presentations in real life again! Orlando here we come!

    • Too funny, Judy! <3 I will be there, and I hope you will seek me out to say hi. <3 I won't be giving a presentation this time, but perhaps I can make a show of it in your school's media center sometime soon. 🙂

  6. What a precious, adorable card! On FIRST look, thought instantly, is that a REAL sugar cookie?! It looked like it had lots of dimension (haven’t finished my coffeeeeee all the way yet, so my eyes were wobbly), I just simply ADORE your card creation, you inspire and delight daily with your amazing creative mind set. I’m copy catting this. hugs, see ya soon!

    • Thanks so much, Debbie! A real sugar cookie would be a great addition to a card – I’ll have to think on how to make that work. So glad you like it! <3

  7. Makes me want something sweet to eat! Maybe that stash of Reese’s peanut butter cups I am hoarding…shhhh

  8. That is one of the sweetest 3X3 mini cards I’ve seen to date. Pair that with the fact that I truly do love basically monochromatic cards and it all equals WOW! Just gorgeous Brian.

  9. The cute tree in Coastal Cabana really makes it pop with the simple layers behind it and the sweet sentiment. So perfect. Enjoy your day!

  10. Cute little card and love the little matching envelope!

  11. Hi Brian,
My name is Sue Johnson from Baraga, Michigan.
I sent my card for your holiday swap and just realized
I did not add a self addressed envelope. Do I have time
To send one as I love your swap and don’t want to miss out.
    Thank -you!

    • Thanks so much, Sue! Don’t tell anyone, but I’ll cover you on the stamp! I’d hate for you to spend a stamp to send a stamp. Can’t wait to dig into these cards and share them with others. <3
