Wishing You Joy for GDP165

This week’s Global Design Project color challenge offers three colors that are GORGEOUS together – especially this time of year. Tranquil Tide, Merry Merlot and Crumb Cake are so sophisticated together and just melt with each other. Here’s my card for this week’s challenge:

Feathers & Frost, Merry Christmas to All, Stampin' Up!, Brian King

And here’s the banner for the challenge that inspired my card (this challenge goes live at 7am EST):

Stampin' Up! Color Inspiration - Tranquil Tide, Merry Merlot, Crumb CakeTips, Tricks and Reminders

  • Three Treats. Aside from the cardstock and ink, I used three great Stampin’ Up! products on this card. Can you name them? Of course you can – you are a rockstar. The leafy pattern on the letters is stamped with the square wreath from Feathers & Frost – a sleeper set from Stampin’ Up!’s 2018 Holiday Catalog that I love very much. Here’s a look at this stamp set:Feathers & Frost, Stampin' Up! 147771The letters are cropped with the oh-so-versatile Large Letters Framelits Dies. These dies are an investment, but they are worth every penny – I’ve used them lots! Here’s a look at these Large Letter Framelits Dies:Large Letters Framelits Dies, Stampin' Up!, 141712The words the precede “JOY” are stamped from the versatile and classic words in Merry Christmas to All. Here’s a look at that bundle:Merry Christmas to All Bundle, Stampin' Up!, 149952
  • Cropping Joy. I stamped the square wreath twice with StazOn Jet Black Ink on Thick Very Vanilla cardstock. Here’s how I cropped the letters from the leafy wreath:Cropping JOY from the Feathers & Frost stamp set, Stampin' Up!, Brian KingThe “O” was left with a little open space when it was cropped, so I just stamped the corner of the wreath onto the cropped “O” to add a little leaf or two. Simple!
  • Coloring Joy. I colored each of the leaves on the cropped letters with Tranquil Tide ink and a Blender Pen. After the ink dried a bit, I added another layer of Tranquil Tide ink to each of the leaves. I colored the berries with a Merry Merlot Stampin’ Write Marker and added a little shine with my Wink of Stella Clear Glitter Brush.
