Two Amazing Ornaments from Two Amazing Women

One of the highlights of my Stampin’ trips (OnStage or incentive trips) is seeing my friends I’d, otherwise, never get to see. Early on in my Stampin’ Up! journey, I met Mary Polcin and Judy Prahl, two incredibly talented and ridiculously kind sisters from Wisconsin. How could I have ever met these two ladies them without Stampin’ Up!? Mary was Stampin’ Up!’s first Million Dollar Sales Achiever (and recently became a Two Million Dollar Sales Achiever). How crazy is that?!

Here’s a picture of us from 2015:

Judy Prahl, Brian King, Mary PolcinThat’s Judy on the left and Mary on the right. I’m the tall one in the middle. I can get to the end of events and totally miss saying, “hi” to some people, but Judy and Mary always seem to be in the same place as I am. I was able to see them multiple times in Orlando.

Judy and Mary were each kind enough to bring me a gift in Orlando. Each made an ornament for me, and I’m excited to share these projects with you. They are both so special and so unique.

Judy’s Peaceful Poinsettia Ornament

Before I show you Judy’s ornament, here’s the box it was delivered in:

Farmhouse Christmas Gift Box by Judy Prahl, Stampin' Up!Judy wrapped the Mini Pizza Box with a band of Festive Farmhouse Designer Series Paper and then layered a sentiment from Farmhouse Christmas on top of that. She used a 2″ Circle punch to crop the background sentiment and layered it with a scalloped circle from the Layering Circle Framelits Dies. The stitched banner with “Merry Christmas” is cropped with the Farmhouse Framelits Dies. What a gorgeous and simple way to wrap a gift!

As if the wrapping wasn’t special enough (I thought that WAS the gift), here’s what was inside:

Peaceful Poinsettia Bundle, Ornament by Judy Prahl, Stampin' Up!Judy found a round, two-sided ornament and filled it with images from Peaceful Poinsettia Bundle and a sentiment from Wishing You Well. A lot of love went into making this ornament – while the poinsettia and leaves are colored with Stampin’ Blends and cropped with the Detailed Poinsettia Thinlits Dies, multiple layers of the flower have been stamped, colored and snipped out to give beautiful dimension. Even the background circle is embossed with the Softly Falling Textured Impressions Embossing Folder for added dimension. Here’s another look at all the layers inside this ornament:

Peaceful Poinsettia Bundle, Ornament by Judy Prahl, Stampin' Up!Now that you see how much time and effort went into making this layer of the ornament, I’m going to blow you mind by telling you the same images are built on the other side of the ornament. She made TWO of what you see here for each of the ornaments she made. You can’t say she “threw something together” quickly with a gift like that!

Mary’s Signs of Santa Spoon Ornament

Mary also gave me an amazing Christmas ornament, which also involved a lot of coloring and cutting and amazing detail. She used the Signs of Santa Bundle to make this spoon ornament:

Signs of Santa Christmas Spoon Ornament by Mary Polcin, Stampin' Up!Please…pick yourself up off the floor so you can finish reading my description of Mary’s project. Mary colored and cropped Santa and the North Pole pole with great detail. She added some Shimmery White Embossing Paste to the tip of the spoon (mimics snow or icing – I’ll take either one!) and a beautiful sentiment with holly from the Peaceful Poinsettia Bundle. She topped off her spoon with Real Red 3/8″ Mixed Satin Ribbon. How cute is that?

Here’s a closer look at Santa:

Signs of Santa Christmas Spoon Ornament by Mary Polcin, Stampin' Up!I asked Mary where she got the spoons – she picked them up at a Dollar store. It doesn’t have to be fine dining silver to make a gorgeous ornament for the tree!

How super-fun and creative is that?! I couldn’t be happier than to received such thoughtful gifts from such thoughtful women.
