Before I share today’s card, I want to give a big shout out to Stampin’ Up!’s Online Extravaganza that starts today! Things are a little different this year – and I can’t knock trying something new. I hope you are as excited about this as I am.

Here’s the sale that kicks off today (and runs for two days) – paper and embellishments are 10% off on November 23 and 24. Click on the flyer below to see the selections in my online store:

I hope y’all had a wonderful Thanksgiving! Even if you aren’t in The States and didn’t do anything special, I still hope you had a great day (that’s just the kind of person I am). To step away from the dark colors of Fall and to celebrate new products that are soon on their way, I created a fun card with a new bundle. I used the Piece of Cake Bundle – that will be featured in Stampin’ Up!’s 2018 Occasions Catalog – to make this card:

FabFri151Tips, Tricks and Reminders

  • Piece of Cake Bundle. My simple card features a sneak peek at the Piece of Cake Bundle – a combination of the Piece of Cake photopolymer stamp and Cake Builder Punch – in Stampin’ Up!’s 2019 Occasions Catalog. The set is filled with some great images of cakes – weddings, birthdays, celebrations and more – and some fun sentiments to coordinate. I chose “Cake is the answer…who cares what the question is.” for my card. The two rows of sentiment fill the space that’s included for ribbon or strips of paper in the sketch. Fun! • Soft, Sweet Cake. File this under “things I know from watching TV”: I’ve watched enough Food Channel bake-offs to know how difficult it is to make a drip cake. Too many times I’ve watched a thin icing pour right over the cake and onto the pan below. It’s a true talent who can get the drips to stop part-way down the side of the cake. Perhaps that’s why I’m drawn to the gorgeous drips on the side of this image:Piece of Cake Bundle, Stampin' Up!, Brian King, birthday cardI stamped the cake, cake stand and heart on Thick Whisper White cardstock with a Memento Tuxedo Black ink. Once the ink dried, I colored the stand with Smoky Slate Stampin’ Blends and the Cake and heart with Petal Pink Stampin’ Blends. I punched the cake and cake stand and snipped the heart before gluing them together on this Soft Sea Foam panel. Simple.
  • Color Inspiration. The color inspiration for this card was pulled from the Twinkle Twinkle Designer Series Paper. Here’s a look at the colors and patterns in this fun pack of paper:Twinkle Twinkle Designer Series Paper, Stampin' Up!, 146284Petal Pink and Soft Sea Foam were pulled right from the paper. While the paper features speckles of Gray Granite, I accented my cake stand and borders in Smoky Slate (just a small replacement).
