Life’s Short for CTS302

I had loads of fun with Animal Outing for this week’s CAS(E) This Sketch challenge. Not only did I love playing with the sweet giraffe, but I positioned him against two panels of giraffe-print paper and added some leaves for him to peek through. I combined two sentiments to make the perfect combination of words to go with my giraffe. Here’s my card:

Tips, Tricks and Reminders

  • Peek-a-boo. Giraffes are tall, peaceful creatures. I love this guy from Animal Outing. I stamped him with Tuxedo Black Memento Ink on Thick Whisper White and colored him with my Daffodil Delight Stampin’ Blends. I cropped him with a Framelits die from the Animal Friends Thinlits Die. I added greenery from the dies, too. • Building the Sentiment. The sentiment at the center of my giraffe card is a little ironic, don’t you think? A tall creature peeking over a “life’s short” sentiment – just what I wanted for my giraffe. “Life’s short – Enjoy the simple moments” is the perfect combination of irony and sweetness. Here’s a closer look: Animal Outing, Lemon Zest, Home to Roost, Stampin' Up!, Brian King“Life’s short” is from Lemon Zest. • In Nature.  While the Crumb Cake panel of giraffe print is Crumb Cake, I really wanted my giraffe to pop with a bright yellow creature. The colors on my card are inspired by nature – yellow giraffe, green leaves and an earthy backdrop.
