Let’s Get Together!

Today I am sharing a fresh, light 4-1/2″ x 2-1/2″ card (9″ x 2-1/2″ card base scored at 4-1/2″ to create a card that’s the same size as a Narrow Note Card). This card is cut and scored to be a top-folded, portrait card and uses a whole bunch of fun, new products from Stampin’ Up!’s 2019 Occasions Catalog. Here’s my card:

Beauty Abounds, Butterfly Gala, Part of My Story, Stampin' Up!, Brian KingTips, Tricks and Reminders

  • Beauty Abounds. The star of this show is this array of flowers that are stamped in black ink on a Daffodil Delight gingham paper. Here’s a look at the sentiments and images in the sure-to-be-a-fan-favorite Beauty Abounds Bundle:Beauty Abounds Bundle, Stampin' Up! 150617The two big dies (each has five butterflies) layer on top of each other for a gorgeous effect. Here’s a sample from the Occasions Catalog of how these dies work together:Beauty Abounds Sample, Stampin' Up!
  • Let’s Get Together. If the array of flowers is the star of this card, then the single butterfly and sentiment are award-winning supporting actors. Here’s a closer look at these two:Beauty Abounds, Butterfly Gala, Part of My Story, Stampin' Up!, Brian KingThe butterfly is stamped with Butterfly Gala stamp set and punched with the Butterfly Duet punch. I colored the sweet butterfly (the smallest of two in the stamp set and punch) with Daffodil Delight and Calypso Coral Stampin’ Blends, allowing the colors to blend and bleed inside the butterfly. Here’s a look at the Butterfly Gala Bundle:Butterfly Gala Bundle, Stampin' Up! 150599To create a simple sentiment on this small card, I reached for Part of My Story, a Sale-a-Bration option in 2019. Here’s a look at the Part of My Story cling mount stamp set that’s filled with sentiments suggested by demonstrators:Part of My Story, Stampin' Up!, 2019 Sale-a-Bration 149719I masked “Let’s get together” from “Let’s get together & giggle” by placing tape over the parts of the stamp I didn’t want for my card, inking the stamp and then removing the tape before stamping on Thick Whisper White. Here’s what happens when you complete the first two parts but forget to remove the tape before stamping down:What Happens when you forget to remove the tape you added to isolate your image, Part of My Story, Stampin' Up!
  • I Love Designer Series Paper! That’s no secret! My card features two panels of Designer Series Paper (one from the 2018 Annual Catalog and one from the 2019 Occasions Catalog). The small panel at the center of my card is the small Daffodil Delight gingham pattern from Gingham Gala 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper. Here’s a look at the colors and patterns in this pack of paper:Gingham Gala 6 x 6 Designer Series Paper, Stampin' Up! 148554The background is the Grapefruit Grove thatched pattern from Nature’s Poem Designer Series Paper. Here’s a look at the colors and patterns in this pack of paper:Nature's Poem Designer Series Paper, Stampin' Up!, 146338

  1. Stunning stamping on the gingham. I love the fresh colors and “portrait” orientation of this note card!

  2. Lovely card, Brian! I have my eye?on that bundle?

  3. I love that all your designs seem to have a twist: the stamping on the gingham is brilliant. And the flower spray seems to have been designed for that narrow notecard style. Great choices!

  4. 2 thumbs up Brian, the gingham DSP is perfect for stamping, I love this look! Iā€™m always grateful for the example of masking the sentiments to get more bang for your buck!

    • Thanks, Katrina! I love the softness of this gingham and would love to see more simple patterns in all colors. I love masking my sentiments – we deserve to have exactly what we want. ā™„

  5. So pretty. Love your cards, Brian! Would you share the dimensions of the layers of this card? It is perfect for a Spring event invitation. I could figure it out, but, it would be easier to ask. LOL!
    Thank you.

    • The base is 9″ x 2-1/2″ scored at 4-1/2″. The coral and Nature’s Poem DSP are 4-1/4″ x 2-1/4″ and 4″ x 2″, respectively. I cut the gingham to match the pattern in the paper and then cropped the coral at 1/8″ longer and wider to build the frame. Hope that helps.

  6. As usual, thanks for showing us the designs on the papers- in specific that linen/thatched design from Nature’s Poem. And speaking of awards- will you be producing another video for us soon? It’s been a while…hint, hint!!!

    • Always happy to share, Cindie! “Producing” is an accurate term for the amount of work that goes into videos, Cindie. šŸ™‚ I haven’t 100% ruled it out, but it’s a lot of work when I have little time. Thanks for your support.

  7. I love this color combo of this fresh, fun card, Brian. The gingham DSP is my favorite as of now. Enjoy your day!

  8. Beautiful card, Brian! Very well done! Thanks for sharing your inspiration with us!

  9. I love how you stamped on the gingham! The colors are fresh and fabulous! Sweet sweet card!

  10. Awesome card..love the stamping on the gingham paper!

  11. Actually, the Let’s Get Together with the tape still stuck on there like that and stamped looked really cool! I’m going to have do it on purpose! šŸ˜‰ It think it would go great with the Gears theme! It could look like a smudge of grease! Can’t wait to get my order!

  12. Oh Brian, I LOVE this card. That silhouette image is a stroke of genius placed where you have and without adding to it in anyway.
