Time for a Spectacular Celebration

Today is a very special day that is in need of a cheery, sweet birthday card. It’s my Mom’s birthday today. While I can’t see her today, I look forward to hanging out with her next week. ♥ Happy birthday, Mom!

This week’s layout for the CAS(E) This Sketch challenge gave me the perfect foundation for the birthday card I wanted to make. My card features a couple of wonderful, new products (one from the Occasions Catalog and one from the Sale-a-Bration brochure) and a gorgeous collection of Stampin’ Blends. I finished this card on Tuesday after work – in time to share it with my InKing Royalty team on our monthly Facebook meeting – what fun! I hope you love the card as much as they did. Here’s my card:

  • Birthday Cheer. It’s not the birthday images of the super-fun Edgelits Dies in the Birthday Cheer Bundle that made me buy this bundle – it’s the over-the-top, must-have sentiments that got my attention. I spy five sentiments that were 100% going to make it into my stamp collection. How gorgeous is this “Time for a Spectacular Celebration” sentiment?! Once the bundle arrived, I gave the images another look. So happy I did. Here’s a look at the Birthday Cheer Bundle:Birthday Cheer Bundle, Stampin' Up! 150576I’m not sure how I feel about gift packages on cards – because it seems that cards go on gift packages – but I love this sweet, lopsided package. Love. I stamped it on Thick Whisper White with Tuxedo Black Memento ink and colored it with Pool Party, Granny Apple Green and Calypso Coral Stampin’ Blends:Birthday Cheer, Botanical Butterfly Designer Series Paper, Stampin' Up!, Brian King
  • Bold Stripes. Have you been wondering where I picked up the fun striped bands on my card? Well, let the mystery end. Here’s one of the pages of paper in the Botanical Butterfly Designer Series Paper, one of the products you can select for free with a $50 purchase during Sale-a-Bration (you can click on the image below to see the pages in my online store):Botanical Butterfly Designer Series Paper, Stampin' Up! 149622I simply cut the paper into strips (along with the stripes) and swiped four colors of Stampin’ Blends across the white stripes in this paper. Both easy AND fun. Here’s a look at all of the patterns and colors in this pack of papers:Botanical Butterfly Designer Series Paper, Stampin' Up!, 2019 Sale-a-Bration 149622
  • Four. My card features four gorgeous colors that are a mix of soft and bright. I used all four on the stripes and three on the package to tie the gift into the background pattern. 11. With such a fun and special card like this, who needs presents? Looks like you have to fussy cut the present but it is pretty easy to cut out. I cut out two of the frogs out yesterday and that was a pain! Anyway, no surprise, your card is always the best. Wishing your mom a very happy birthday.
