Thank You with Home to Roost

On my birthday I decided I would send a handmade card to everyone who placed an order on that day – and I sent a small gift to everyone who placed an order over $50. I’m so happy I was able to send out a handful of cards (and I still have four to address and send). Here’s the card I created for these special customers:

Home to Roost, Notes of Kindness, Stampin' Up!, Brian King

Tips, Tricks and Reminders

  • Home to Roost. Home to Roost is one of the items you can select for free with a $50 purchase during Sale-a-Bration. What a fun set! I love this rooster and was proud to showcase him on this card. I stamped him with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink on Thick Whisper White, colored him with a mix of beautiful Stampin’ Blends and cropped him with the Stitched Shapes Framelits Dies. Here’s a closer look at this amazing stamp set:Home to Roost, Stampin' Up! 149736I’ve only featured this rooster once before – I was so happy with how he turned out before that I used the same exact colors to bring him to life. You can see that post here. I added the small patch of grains to the front of the envelope for an added tie-in to what’s inside:Home to Roost, Notes of Kindness, Stampin' Up!, Brian King
  • Two More Products. My card features two other products that are worth pointing out. Here’s a closer look at the front of my card:Home to Roost, Notes of Kindness, Stampin' Up!, Brian KingThe black-and-white gingham background of my card is cropped right from the Botanical Butterfly Designer Series Paper, another option with a $50 purchase during Sale-a-Bration. I love this pack of papers and think the black-and-white gingham pairs perfectly with this rooster. How fun! Here’s a closer look at the colors and patterns in this pack of paper: Botanical Butterfly Designer Series Paper, Stampin' Up!, 2019 Sale-a-Bration 149622I shared some suggested color combinations from this pack of papers – you can see that post here. I wanted a solid-block sentiment for the front of my card, so I reached for this gorgeous “thank you” from the Notes of Kindness Card Kit. The stamp picks up a block of ink (I used Cherry Cobbler) and leaves the letters in the words open. I stamped the image and snipped the rectangle with paper snips. • Country-Chic Trio. The colors in this card support the country-chic feel of the rooster and gingham. I love how the richness of Cherry Cobbler plays with the brightness of Bermuda Bay. If you like this combination of Crumb Cake, Bermuda Bay and Cherry Cobbler, please save this:Stampin' Up! Color Inspiration: Crumb Cake, Bermuda Bay, Cherry CobblerWhen I make multiples of a card, I like to share an “infinity shot” of the cards.
