Country Floral Makes a Big Impression!

While I was hanging out at Mary Fish’s house this past weekend, we were able to sneak in an afternoon of crafting with friends (you can see my post about this adventure here). After our games and show-and-tells, we rolled up our sleeves to make beautiful projects with Mary’s supplies. It’s always exciting to make things with other people’s craft supplies (even though you own all the same things). Anyway, Tricia Chuba helped me to make this card that features the Country Floral Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder:

  • Country Floral Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. That product name is a mouthful of wonderful things! • Inspiration. I don’t think I realized it at the time, but my card colors, textures and sentiment were inspired by everything around me on the day I made the card. Not only was I surrounded by great friends as we crafted on Sunday that inspired me to pull this sentiment from Detailed with Love off Mary’s stamp shelf, but the Mossy Meadow cardstock and Wood Textures 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper were also pulled from my environment. Just look how this card looks against the landscape of stones and cacti in Mary’s back yard.Country Floral Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder, Detailed with Love, Stampin' Up!, Brian KingIt was Tricia who suggested I add the Pear Pizzazz leaves (with the Sprig Punch) behind the sentiment – such a great texture to add to this card! • Earthy Gorgeousness. As I mention above, the colors and textures (and sentiment) were pulled from my environment the day I made the card. I love this mix of earth tones and couldn’t be more excited about how this card turned out. 1. Brian, I think this is the most beautiful embossing folder I have ever seen. Your card is so pretty using the inspiration of Mary’s backyard. The woodgrain layer is unexpected and very clever. I think this EF will look great in any color cardstock. The sprigs are the perfect something something detail. Enjoy your day!

    • Thanks so much for your sweet comments, Hilda! I’m so glad you like the card – it was easy to pull together with the gorgeous inspiration at Mary’s house. ♥

  5. I’m so happy I have this folder, it’s soooo Pretty! Your card is a great example and the details shows up exceptional in the photo.

  6. Love your card. The colors are perfect. I’m not a big user of the embossing folder but I might need that one.

    • I went through a phase where I almost never used the folders. I’m coming back around to what an impact they can have. This one is a must-have. Thanks, Margo! ♥

  7. Lovin’ the woodgrain and gorgeous texture. Tricia and you make a creative duo. Thanks again for a wonderful time. Perfect photo with my yard saying “hello” in the background.

    • What I love most is that I didn’t have to use a stitch of my own supplies to make this card (which will likely make its way back to you). 🙂 All your supplies! ♥

  8. Was sure fun watching you create this card at Mary’s house with Tricia (I would have helped but I was busy helping Mary) . Looks amazing and when taken with Mary’s awesome yard in the background…..Total WOW FACTOR happening.

    • It’s OK that you didn’t want to help me, Kadie! You were too busy with “the queen” and with winning all the challenges. I get it. This was a simple card to make – not a lot of fussy decisions. Such a fun day!

  9. what a stunning backdrop to that sentiment. I have to get that folder. another winner Brian.

  10. WOW! Just amazing. Such beauty in this embossing folder. The catalog doesn’t do it justice but your card certainly brings its beauty to light. Thanks Brian, I never gave it a second look until today when I saw your card.

  11. You had me at the Mossy Meadow color! What a wonderful card! I love the wood look with it. Loving all the delicious layers and textures to go with a fabulous backdrop! I guess I could get some white card stock out and walk on it to dirty it up to match our dirty looking snow. Maybe use some Wink of Stella here and there for when the sun shines on some of it making it sparkle. Then, there is the So Safron touches from, well you know!

    • Aaaaah! The imagery of dirty snow is so soothing…not. Thanks for your sweet comments, Chris! Sorry that you’re getting so much snow. We came home to constant rain and fog. Just lovely! Glad you like the card. ♥

  12. Oh sooooooo, lovely my friend, I have it and love it lots ,
    Tfs , have a beautiful weekend ♥️♥️
    Hugs Frenchie ♥️

  13. Your card is a perfect match to that beautiful scenery! Love it!

  14. That lovely scenery was covered in white snow the day you posted this beautiful card. I hope Mary sent you a picture of it so you can make a similar card with a different color theme. That would be interesting. Sort of like VanGogh painted the same scene in different lights. I think it was Van Gogh. Love your cards.

    • It was a wonderful inspiration for this card. Mary did send pictures with the snow – so beautiful (especially beautiful since it only stayed for a day).

  15. A wow card with that embossing! Great scenery photo!
