Butterfly Beauty Thinlits

I had no idea where I was going when I started to make the card I’m sharing with you today, but I’m so happy with where I ended up. I have wanted to introduce my Butterfly Beauty Thinlits to my Big Shot since they first arrived in my pre-order for the Occasions Catalog. Today was the day. Here’s my card:

Butterfly Beauty Thinlits Dies, Humming Along, Stampin' Up!, Brian King, thank you card

Tips, Tricks and Reminders

  • Beauty Abounds & the Butterfly Beauty Thinlits Dies. Do you love butterflies? If so, you are going to love the Beauty Abounds Bundle. The background of this card subtly showcases these dies. The two butterfly dies in the Butterfly Beauty Thinlits Dies are designed to layer on top of each other. Here’s a look at the Beauty Abounds Bundle:Beauty Abounds Bundle, Stampin' Up! 150617And here’s how these two dies offset one another as shown with a sample from the 2019 Occasions Catalog: Beauty Abounds Sample, Stampin' Up!Rather than offset the two panels, I cut both with Poppy Parade for a layered background on my card.
  • Layering the Butterflies. Once you’ve cut these dies out and cleaned them up (even after popping them out with the die brush, there’s a little work to pop out some tiny pieces with a paper piercing tool), it’s time to glue them down. Before you cover the entire back of the top die with glue, let’s think through this a bit.Butterfly Beauty Thinlits Dies, Stampin' Up!, Brian KingI started by applying adhesive from the Fine-Tip Glue Pen to the back of the large, central butterfly with and lining it up over the the coordinating piece. I then pealed up each of the other layers, added glue and glued them down in segments. Easier to tackle it in pieces.
  • Splash of Wink. I loved how the Poppy Parade butterflies layered on top of the Poppy Parade layer on top of the Poppy Parade base. I wanted a little bit more, though. Because I used it last week, I knew that my Wink of Stella brush would give me the right amount of shine to let my butterflies pop. After it was all glued down, I brushed my glitter brush over the butterflies and filled in all the nooks and crannies: Butterfly Beauty Thinlits Dies, Humming Along, Stampin' Up!, Brian King, thank you cardThe photos can’t capture the gorgeous shine on these butterflies, but you get the picture, right?

  7. Like everyone else I think this card is absolutely magnificent. There is an old wives story that says that a butterfly is the return of the soul of a loved one that has departed and that is why they are so beautiful. A beautiful story, a beautiful card and an exceptional paper artist. Thanks for sharing Brian and the Wink of Stella reflects your sparkling personality.
