Green for the InKing Royalty Blog Hop

Many of my Stampin’ Up! team members (not only those with blogs) share their gorgeous projects in our team’s Facebook community – there’s such amazing and inspiring creativity in this group! I’m always excited when my team’s blog hop rolls around, though, because I get to share some of their amazing work with you. I’m just as excited to see their projects as you are, and I am proud to share them with you.

Welcome to InKing Royalty’s March Blog Hop! This year’s Blog Hop themes are inspired by a single word – and this month our projects are centered around GREEN. We are excited to share our creations with you today – there’s a wonderful variety of styles and occasions celebrated in this hop! After you read my post, I hope you’ll hop over to the next person on the list at the base of this post.

Here’s my Spring-themed and full-of-green card:

Daisy Delight, A Good Day, Stampin' Up!, Brian King

Tips, Tricks and Reminders

  • Three Great Products for Spring. Today is the first official day of Spring – yay! To celebrate, my simple, layered card features three great products that are perfect to get you through the coming Spring months. The gorgeous, patterned paper that serves as a backdrop for my card is pulled from a Sale-a-Bration offering that is a must-have! The Painted Seasons Bundle (Painted Seasons stamp set + Painted Seasons Designer Series Paper) is available with a $100 order during Sale-a-Bration. Here’s a look at this incredible bundle (which, incidentally pairs with the Four Seasons Framelits Dies while supplies last):Painted Seasons Bundle, Stampin' Up! 150349If you only want the paper (or want to restock), that can be selected with a $50 order with product #149574. I love that time of year when the trees start producing their big, green leaves again – that’s when I know Spring is here! With the “green” theme for this hop and my celebration of Spring, I knew I wanted to feature this little tree, tree swing and flower from A Good Day. Here’s a look at this stamp set:A Good Day, Stampin' Up!, 145873My sentiment is pulled from another Spring-themed stamp set. Daisy Delight pairs with the Daisy Punch (always popular this time of year). There’s something adorable, though, about this sweet sentiment and the tree from A Good Day (this is the second time I’ve put them together). Here’s a look at the ever-popular Daisy Delight stamp set:Daisy Delight, Stampin' Up!, 143669
  • A Sweet, Spring Scene. A sweet sentiment, a leaf-filled tree, a swing and a beautiful flower. Do you really need anything more to build a sweet, Spring scene? Here’s a closer look at my scene that was cropped with the Layering Ovals Framelits Dies:Daisy Delight, A Good Day, Stampin' Up!, Brian KingI stamped the image with StazOn Jet Black ink. I used Call Me Clover, Highland Heather and Daffodil Delight Stampin’ Write Markers to color the leaves, flower petals and flower center, respectively. I dipped a Blender Pen into my Crumb Cake ink for a light wash of color on the tree trunk, branches and swing seat.
  • Decorate the Envelope. An exciting card deserves an exciting envelope. While any of the Call Me Clover patterns from the 2018-2020 In Color 6″ x 6″ designer Series Paper would have looked great as a liner inside the envelope, I chose to line the envelope with the same Painted Seasons Designer Series Paper I used as a border on my card.Daisy Delight, A Good Day, Stampin' Up!, Brian KingI cropped the envelope liner with the Beautiful Layers Thinlits Dies – there’s a die (bottom, left corner below) that crops a perfect liner for our Medium Envelopes. Yay! Beautiful Promenade Bundle, Stampin' Up!, 148389

    • I would have NEVER guessed that you liked the set with the tiny, sweet images, Pam. NEVER. OK, maybe I knew. Thanks so much! Happy Spring to you and your family, too! β™₯

  3. your layering makes the simpler focal image absolutely pop! you are the master of layering.

    • Thanks so much, Dara! It’s a blessing a curse. I go through a lot of paper, trying to find the right balance I want – and it always means more layers. πŸ™‚ Glad you like it!

  4. Your card is making me think spring (yay!), even though we still have alot of snow up here in Maine!

  5. Perfect way to kick off spring with this sweet card! Love the image!

  6. Love your pretty card with the tree and swing. So sweet. I have completely overlooked this stamp set, but now I’ll have to revisit it. It’s perfect for lots of occasions. Your green DSP as background and envelope liner is a great idea. Enjoy your day!

    • Thanks, Hilda! This set debuted in Occasions last year and was originally bundled with the scallop circle punches. Such a great set for Spring! Have a great day!

  7. I’m green with envy over your great card. Can’t wait to hop along and see the others.

  8. One word my friend. FANTASTIC!!!!!

  9. Brian your card is beautiful. I love the dsp and as always your layering is perfect.

  10. How perfect to have green for the hop thing this month. Between St. Patrick’s Day and the first day of spring green is definitely THE color to use.
I really love my A Good Day stamp set and you managed to use my favorite image from it. Isn’t it amazing that such a small stamp can make such a huge impact? Love today’s card now send some warm weather up north here and share it with those of us who still have plenty of snow on the ground! LOL

    • Thanks, Grace! I really love this sweet tree. It tells a story. Wish I could send some warm weather your way – and in a month’s time, I’d wish I could pull back some of the colder weather your experiencing now. πŸ™‚

  11. one word sums this up . . . precious. i love the wee design and simple sentiment. lovely mix of greens!

  12. Note to Self – Must channel my inner Brian more often. How you are always able to pull sentiments together perfectly with images.

    • Thanks, Lynn! I loved the sweet font on this sweet sentiment and looked for an image that would look great with it. Glad you like it! β™₯

  13. I may have to get that thinlet set just for the liner! I love (!!!) the tree and the swing! Precious! The DSP really gives movement to the card.

    • Thanks so much, Sue! I hadn’t thought about the movement, but you’re right. The movement of the background is a fun contradiction to the serenity of the scene.

  14. I love this sweet card! You really made the sentiment and small image shine even while surrounded with a busy patterned paper!

  15. So cute Brian, many layers is A-ok with me!

  16. That DSP made a perfect frame for you! Sweet card and lovely greens!

  17. That tree stamp is darling! So is your card! Thanks for bringing that set to my attention.

    • Thanks, Robin! Spring products often get overlooked – we postpone in the Occasions and then are too late for Annual. This is a good set. Thanks!
