World’s Best Father with Seize the Day

Father’s Day cards can be tricky. While you want to capture something the man likes on the card you make for him, a Father’s Day card doesn’t always have to feature fish, golf, ties or cars. AND it doesn’t have to be brown. For this week’s CAS(E) This Sketch challenge, I made a card that’s perfect for the active father in your life. Change up the sentiment, and it’s also perfect for ANY active, adventurous person. How cool is that?! Here’s my card:

Seize the Day, Itty Bitty Greetings, Stampin' Up!, Brian King, Father's Day card

And here’s the banner for the Chrissy Larson’s challenging challenge that inspired my card:

  • Seize the Day. The images on my card are from Seize the Day, a Distinktive stamp set in Stampin’ Up!’s 2018 Annual Catalog. Not only are the sentiments in this set amazing, but the Distinktive images are perfect for layering and oh-so-fun to stamp. Here’s a look at this wonderful stamp set:  Seize the Day, Stampin' Up!, 146813As you can see when you click on the promotional flyer below, Stampin’ Up!’s Distinktive Stamps create different opacities in a single, stamped image for a gorgeous outcome: April’s Paper Pumpkin Kit will include Distinktive stamps. • World’s Best Father. It’s the sentiment on this card that makes it special for Father’s Day – and I pulled that sentiment from one of the most versatile sets in either catalog – Itty Bitty Greetings. I punched the sentiment with the Classic Label Punch and then snipped the pointed edges off for a clean look that fit perfectly inside my landscape. Here’s a closer look at the front of my card:Seize the Day, Itty Bitty Greetings, Stampin' Up!, Brian King, Father's Day cardAnd here’s a look at the variety of itty bitty greetings in Itty Bitty Greetings:Itty Bitty Greetings, Stampin' Up!, 146667How many occasions can you count in this amazing set?
  • Color Combination. Cards for men don’t have to be colorless. There’s nothing particularly masculine or feminine about this mix of greens and powder blue – they are bright, brilliant and a wonderful way to celebrate that adventurous someone you love. If you like this combination of Balmy Blue, Lemon Lime Twist and Shaded Spruce as much as I do, please save this:Stampin' Up! Color Inspiration - Balmy Blue, Lemon Lime Twist, Shaded Spruce
