Be Inspired: Bling & Shine

It’s time for another Be Inspired Design Team Blog Hop – what fun! The Be Inspired Design Team is a group of Stampin’ Up! demonstrators from all over the world who are excited to share our themed projects with you. I’m so honored to be a part of this group of talented stampers!

For today’s Be Inspired Hop, we are blinging up our projects with diamonds, gold, glitter…you name it! If you aren’t starting the hop here, then you probably just popped over from the amazing project shared by my talented Canadian friend Carolynn Sander.

Bling and Shine

For today’s project, I reached for two of my favorite birthday bundles in Stampin’ Up!’s current catalogs – I combined the stamp set from the Birthday Cheer Bundle (in the Occasions Catalog) with the dies from the Broadway Birthday Bundle (in the Annual Catalog) for a bright, blingy birthday card. Here’s my project for this Be Inspired Blog Hop:

Birthday Cheer, Broadway Lights Framelits Dies, Stampin' Up!, Brian King

Tips, Tricks and Reminders

  • Birthday Bundles. This bright-and-shiny card is an exciting blend of my favorite elements from my two favorite birthday bundles. This gorgeously scripted sentiment feels very “at home” on this retro cutout and retro backdrop. Here’s a closer look a the front of my card:Birthday Cheer, Broadway Lights Framelits Dies, Stampin' Up!, Brian KingThe sentiment is from the super-fun Birthday Cheer Bundle in Stampin’ Up!’s 2019 Occasions Catalog. This bundle is close to selling out and going away forever, so buy it now if you love it like I love it. I isolated the sentiments with masking tape, breaking one sentiment image into two. I just love this bundle – so versatile and so fun. Here’s a closer look at the Broadway Birthday Bundle:Broadway Birthday Bundle, Stampin' Up!, 148321
  • Shine On. There are two elements of shine on this card that lend to the spectacular celebration that’s about to take place – the foil background and the stylish gold pearls. Here’s a look at the project that shows off the brilliant shine of this foil:  Birthday Cheer, Broadway Lights Framelits Dies, Stampin' Up!, Brian KingThis panel of retro foil paper is from the Broadway Bound Specialty Designer Series Paper. What a gorgeous collection of colors and textures! This paper is a celebration of its very own. They are tiny and adorable – and were perfect for this blingy project. Here’s a look at the Metallic Pearls:Metallic Pearls, Stampin' Up! 146282
  • Bold Trio. It can be tricky to find colors that work well with gold. For this card, I chose two colors that are polar opposites of one another. Petal Pink is as soft and sweet as can be, while Basic Black is bold and offers no apologies. Together they worked beautifully with the gold foil and gold accents.
