Couldn’t Have Picked a Better Friend

On Monday, I shared a park-themed card with the Pretty Park Framelits Dies for the Global Design Project theme challenge. If you missed it, you can see it here. There was another idea for this challenge rolling through my head for weeks before the challenge went live – I decided to go ahead and complete that project, and I’m thrilled with how these cards turned out. These small cards also share the “A Day in the Park” theme but are very different from the card I shared on Monday. Here are my cards:

Tips, Tricks and Reminders

• Annual Catalog Goodies. Beautiful Bouquet is my go-to sets for great sentiments. While the gorgeous collection of flowers and leaves are the obvious highlight of this set and coordinating dies, there are 15 sentiments that can be used for lots of occasions. Here’s a look at the Beautiful Bouquet stamp set: While I didn’t use the dies on this project, this set coordinates with the Bouquet Bunch Framelits (you can see those dies here). Each of the cards features an image that pairs with the Gingham Gala background and the sentiment from the Beautiful Bouquet stamp set? Here’s where I got the flowers and apples for my cards: And here’s a look at the coordinating Build a Bike Framelits Dies:
• Picked a Friend. You are bright (and fully awake after your first cup of coffee), so you’ve already noticed how this sentiment – “I couldn’t have picked a better friend” – pairs beautifully with both the flowers (which you pick) and the apples (which you pick). At the same time, both are perfect for the “A Day in the Park” theme at this week’s Global Design Project. What do you think? I could have also gone with the “Thanks a bunch” sentiment, but I am excited by the versatility of the “picked” sentiment. I mixed the gingham envelope liners between the two cards – the liner is simply punched with a 2-1/4″ Circle punch.
• Gingham Gala. The patterns and colors in the Gingham Gala 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper add to the in-the-park-theme of this card. I pulled the Daffodil Delight background into one card with the flowers, and I pulled the Lemon Lime Twist background into the other card with the apples. Such gorgeous, Spring-like colors in this pack of 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Papers. Here’s a look:
