Woo hoo! My sketch is the inspiration layout this week’s CAS(E) This Sketch challenge. It’s always fun to create a card with a sketch you’ve designed, but it’s even more exciting to see what everyone else comes up with. Such a fun week! Here’s my card:
And here’s the banner for the challenge that inspired my card:
- Varied and Vibrant. Don’t you love it when Stampin’ Up! releases a companion stamp set – a set that coordinates with a punch or dies you already have? Bump that feeling up a notch when a stamp set coordinates with a BUNDLE you already have a love. When Varied Vases debuted in Stampin’ Up!’s 2018 Annual Catalog, I was thrilled (it’s an amazing set designed by Mary Fish, my up-up-line and great friend when she reached $1 million in sales. When Vibrant Vases debuted in Stampin’ Up!’s 2019 Occasions Catalog, I knew I had to have it! What a perfect companion! Here’s a look at the Varied Vases Bundle: And here’s a look at the Vibrant Vases stamp set:For my card today, I used the vase and flowers from Vibrant Vases and the sentiment and punch from the Varied Vases Bundle. If you don’t have either, you need both. If you only have one, you need the other. Such fun sets for all sorts of occasions.
- A Fun Diagonal. When I created this sketch months ago, I had yet to come to terms with the fact that I make LOTS of cards with a diagonal slant. When I recognized that many of my cards have a slanted element, I created a fun tutorial and shared a parade of cards with a slanted design. Click on the picture below for my fun tips on creating a slanted element on a card:I positioned the “Thanks” banner on my card to mimic the slanted cut of the background paper, while the vase is straight up-and-down. Here’s a closer look at the banner and the texture from the Vibrant Vases stamps.
- A Beautiful Combination. The base panel of Designer Series Paper on this top panel is a beautiful bokeh pattern of Petal Pink from the Petal Promenade Designer Series Paper. I’ve gotten so much use out of this page – it’s stunning. Here’s a look at the colors and patterns in the Petal Promenade Designer Series Paper:If you like this combination of Petal Pink, Crumb Cake and Mossy Meadow, please save this for future reference:I used this color combination back in July 2018 for one of my favorite sympathy cards – you can see that card here.
Bundles: Varied Vases Stamp Sets: Varied Vases, Vibrant Vases Papers: Petal Promenade Designer Series Paper, Crumb Cake, Mossy Meadow, Whisper White Inks: Mossy Meadow, Petal Pink, Basic Black Accessories: Vases Builder Punch, Layering Circles Framelits Dies, Classic Label Punch, Stampin’ Dimensionals
I hope you’ll pop over to the CAS(E) This Sketch site to see the cards by the design team members and to play along with this week’s challenge. This challenge goes live at 10:30 am EST.
Thanks for stopping by today!
