Lots of Lemon Lime Twist for GDP185

This week’s Color Challenge at the Global Design Project gives us freedom – with a challenging twist. This week’s color challenge is “monochrome – any color of your choice.” How fun is that?! I didn’t hesitate one second before deciding to sit down and play with Lemon Lime Twist, a favorite of mine for the past two years. Sadly, Lemon Lime Twist will be retiring when the current catalog retires (or when Lemon Lime Twist products sell out), but I feel like I’m still saying “hello” to this luscious green. Here’s my card:

GDP185Tips, Tricks and Reminders

  • Floral Frames. For my sweet tribute to Lemon Lime Twist, I reached for my Floral Frames Bundle, a gorgeous bundle in Stampin’ Up!’s 2018-2019 Annual Catalog that will also be retiring on June 3 (or when these products sell out). I didn’t initially think this set was “my style” – but I’ve thoroughly enjoyed playing with it and making lots of projects with it. • 3/8″ Mini Ruffled Ribbon. I’ve LOVED the 3/8″ Mini Ruffled Ribbon that was released in Stampin’ Up!’s 2018-2019 Annual Catalog (it comes in all five of the 2017-2019 In Colors). I’ve used it to wrap gifts and tie up boxes, and I’ve given it as a gift to some of my stamping friends. Today is the first time, though, that I’ve used this ribbon on a card. Here’s a closer look at how this ribbon accents my card:Lemon Lime Twist Ruffled Ribbon, Stampin' Up!, Brian KingI always thought the ribbon was too bulky for a card – it’s ruffled on both sides (which makes it perfect for gift-wrapping). For my card, I trimmed along one side of the band in the center of the ribbon, added Tear and Tape to the band and then added it along the edge of the panel on my card. Here’s a graphic I made (with the Tranquil Tide trim because it’s easier to see in the picture) to show how I did this:How to adhere Ruffled Ribbon to a Card, Stampin' Up!, Brian KingAll of this ribbon will retire at the end of this catalog (or when supplies sell out). If you think you’d love this ribbon (and you will), I suggest you grab up some before it goes away.
  • Lemon Lime Twist Goodies. For my monochromatic card, I reached for quite a few Lemon Lime Twist products.
