SNEAK PEEK: Free as a Bird

Over the past couple of days, I’ve covered a lot of information on my blog. On Monday, I shared Stampin’ Up!’s retiring list, along with some suggestions for how you can grab up some of these amazing products before they are gone (you can see that post here). Yesterday, I provided some updates to that retiring list and a sneak peek look at Stampin’ Up!’s 2019-2021 In Colors (you can see that post here). Today, I’m sharing a sneak peek look at an amazing, new stamp set that needs to just jump right onto your wish list from this new catalog. Here a card I made with the Free as a Bird stamp set:

Bird Ballad, Stampin' Up!, Brian King, 2019 Annual Catalog Sneak PeekHow super-sweet are these adorable birds?! Everything about this flowered branch of birds exudes the fresh feeling of a Spring day. Here’s a look at the new stamp set:

Free as a Bird, Stampin' Up! 149468The birds, the flowers, the leaves, the sentiments – all twelve of the stamps in this set are perfect. I just love it! The set coordinates with a set of Stitched Nested Dies that are one of the must-have-right-now products in the 2019 Annual Catalog.

My card uses some of the elements from the make-and-take from our OnStage event – the Whisper White panel, the Pool Party panel (which was the card base) and the Old Olive banner. I stamped each of these during the OnStage event and then added the Old Olive base and Basic Black layers when I got home. Here’s a look at the card sample from the OnStage event:

Free as a Bird, Bird Ballad Designer Series Paper, Stampin' Up! OnStage sampleBecause I stamped my panels differently from how they were designed by Stampin’ Up!, the above is just a photo of the packet we received with our supplies. Just look at that GORGEOUS panel of Bird Ballad Designer Series Paper that serves as the background on this card – it’s an amazing pack of papers, and I can’t wait for you to see all of it.

When I got home to my Stampin’ Blends, I colored the quartet of sweet birds with Pool Party and Petal Pink Combos, adding a touch of Light Pumpkin Pie to the beaks, Light Crumb Cake to the branches, Light Soft Sea Foam for the leaves and Light Daffodil Delight to the flowers. I added a touch of Color Lifter to the bellies of each of the birds. Here’s a closer look at my finished project:

Bird Ballad, Stampin' Up!, Brian King, 2019 Annual Catalog Sneak PeekEven with the mix of colors on the flowers and leaves, the standout colors on this card are a beautiful mix. The richness of Old Olive on the base and sentiment just help to soften Petal Pink and Pool Party even more. If you like this combination of Petal Pink, Pool Party and Old Olive, please save this:
