Geared Up Garage for CTS318

I love the simplicity of the CAS(E) This Sketch challenge that kicks off today – the single band down the middle and the sentiment banner give us so much room to make any card that fits our design aesthetic. Such fun! I reached for the Geared Up Garage Bundle and coordinating Classic Garage 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper for a clean and cool Father’s Day card. Here’s my card:

Tips, Tricks and Reminders

  • Geared Up for Retirement. If you have loved the Classic Garage suite of products in Stampin’ Up!’s 2019 Occasions Catalog (but you haven’t yet stocked up), now might be a great time to purchase these items. The Classic Garage 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper (used on three panels of this card) will be retiring on June 3 or when they sell out. Since these amazing papers are currently on a while-supplies-last basis, this would be a good time to grab up a couple packs:Classic Garage 6 x 6 Designer Series Paper, Stampin' Up! 148482While the Geared Up Garage stamp set and the coordinating Garage Gears Dies will be offered in Stampin’ Up!’s 2019 Annual Catalog (yay!), the bundle of the two (with a 10% discount) will end on June 3. You don’t want to miss that! Here’s a look at the Geared Up Garage Bundle from Stampin’ Up!’s 2019 Occasions Catalog:Geared Up Garage Bundle, Stampin' Up! 150610
  • A Little Touch. When I stamped this sentiment with Tranquil Tide ink on Thick Whisper White, the image leaves a distressed inside of “happy” and “day.” While I like the look of the intentionally distressed sentiment, I pulled in some of the ink with my Blender Pen. I doesn’t fill in the sentiment – instead, it adds a lighter color to enhance the distressed texture. Here’s a closer look: Geared Up Garage, Stampin' Up!, Brian King, Father's Day cardI accented my sentiment (which looks a lot like a Heinz mustard logo – it doesn’t hurt that I placed it over a panel of Crushed Curry) with two little banners from the Bunch of Banners Dies – which retire at the end of this catalog (or when they sell out).
  • Cool Color Combination. I love a monochromatic card – all gray or all blue is A-OK with me – but I don’t think you have to limit yourself to great colors when making a card for the man in your life. My Father’s Day card features a beautiful duo of colors on a gray backdrop. If you like this combination of Crushed Curry, Tranquil Tide and Basic Gray, please save this:Stampin' Up!
