Stampin’ Up!’s 2019 Annual Catalog introduces us to Suite Bundles – where you can order entire suites of select products (that’s the coordinating bundle [at a 10% savings], the ribbons, the accessories and more) with one product number. How fun! The Come Sail Away Suite Bundle is filled to the brim with beautiful by-the-sea-themed products that you are certain to fall in love with. I used the stamps, dies and Designer Series Paper from the Come Sale Away suite on today’s card for the CAS(E) This Sketch challenge:
And here’s the banner for the challenge that inspired my card:
Tips, Tricks and Reminders
- Sailing Home. The Sailing Home Bundle is the “anchor” of the Come Sail Away Suite – see what I did there (sometimes I giggle at myself)? The set is a beautiful mix of images (lighthouses, birds and boats) that are perfect for masculine cards or cards that feature beautiful, by-the-sea nostalgia. Here’s a look at the Sailing Home stamp set:You really can’t go wrong with these products. Stampin’ Up! likes the suite so much that they featured projects with these products on half of the cover of the new catalog:And we used several products for one of our make-and-takes. Here’s a look at my photo of the make-and-take that was designed by Stampin’ Up! designers:I took some of the beautiful supplies to make today’s card and finished it at home when my new bundle arrived.
- A Beautiful Slant. The sketch today calls for a diagonal design. Normally, I would think, “That’s different and interesting” – except that a couple of months ago I realized how many times I create cards with a diagonal element. Here’s a closer look at the diagonal on my card:(This lighthouse is GORGEOUS – and that’s just with a single stamped image). Back to the diagonal on the card…if you’d like to see a collection of diagonal cards I shared in March, along with a step-by-step tutorial for building a card with diagonals, CLICK HERE.
- Totally Nautical. If you are making a card that gives a nod to life on the ocean, you certainly have to reach for Crumb Cake, Balmy Blue and Night of Navy. Real Red is another great color to add, but red adds a bit more energy. These three are so calm and so sophisticated:I love this combination so much that I’ve unknowingly used it three times (only figured it out while I was saving off this graphic) – today and twice to show color combinations from Designer Series Paper (once here and once here).
Bundles: Sailing Home Stamp Sets: Sailing Home Papers: Come Sail Away Designer Series Paper, Crumb Cake, Balmy Blue, Night of Navy, Thick Whisper White Inks: Night of Navy Accessories: Smooth Sailing Dies, Stampin’ Dimensionals
I hope you’ll pop over to the CAS(E) This Sketch site to see the cards by the design team members and to play along with this week’s challenge.
Thanks for stopping by today!
Brian

Then, that DSP…..love it too, it has a touch of vintage coastal linens, well…..that’s what it feels to me, LOL!!
Now, the Stampin’ Up! catalog covers keep getting more gorgeous!! oh my goodness!!! this one is stunning.
Thank you for sharing.
Hugs.
I love that distressed (but not dirty) look of the Designer Series Paper, too. Thanks so much, Maria! This entire suite is amazing! ♥
Looks very Maine-ish…love it! : )
Couldn’t agree more! I thought of you when I saw the gorgeous samples at OnStage. Thanks, Dawn!
Sailing Home will be one of the first sets I will be ordering. I love the card you made.
It’s a great collection, Margaret Ann. You won’t be displeased with it. ♥
This looks like a great stamp set! I love the color scheme so much. Thanks for sharing.
It’s a really great set! The papers are gorgeous, too! So happy to share, Christina! ♥
Love this suite! Awesome card!
Thanks, Windy! I knew my Florida friend would love this suite.
Brilliant how you worked the diagonal! This will be such an amazing bundle of products!
Thanks, Mary! The bundle is quite amazing! Such a keeper!
Love your take on the sketch with this amazing lighthouse. Love the great color combo, too. Have a wonderful day!
Thanks so much, Hilda! It’s a great image that balances between “clean” and “vintage” so well. Thanks!
Loving this bundle!
It’s a really great one, Kadie! So versatile.
Great composition. Love this stamp set. As always, you really know how to showcase a stamp set. Mike and I always look forward to your blog.
Thanks so much Germaine! So nice to hear from you. Hope you and Mike are well. ♥
I LOVE how you can always take the materials provided for another project and completely reinvent the design to reflect your own style. Yes, you are a master of design, but more importantly, a master of following your own aesthetic. That’s what makes your projects so special. LOVE the card~
Thanks so much, Linda! You are such an effective sweet-talker. 🙂 Thanks so much!
Oh boy – another “gotta’ have” stamp set! This one should be part of the tourism ads for Maine. I have to agree with Dawn there. I’ll be anxious to see the papers in the DSP pack that goes with this set. AND I’ll be looking for a “lobstah” punch to go with it. LOL Beautiful card Brian and from what I see, very, very versatile. Love it.
I would LOVE to see a lobstah punch, Grace, but I’m afraid there’s not one there. Or is there? No, there’s not. Thanks, my friend. ♥
Two words. . . Love – it!
One word – thanks! ♥
To be honest, it would be hard to make a bad card with this bundle. However, your card is outstanding!
Ha! I agree. Thanks so much, Dianne!
Straight out of GQ…..crisp and classy!
Thanks so much, Linda! ♥
Hi Brian, I love your cards! But I so much wish that you would give us the dimensions for all the bits and pieces of your creations!
