Sweet Silhouettes Dies for CTS326

Yesterday I shared a card that features the See a Silhouette Designer Series Paper and images from the coordinating Silhouette Scenes stamp set. If you missed that card, you can see it here. Today I’m sharing the coordinating Sweet Silhouettes Dies for a CAS(E) This Sketch challenge I created – what fun! Here’s my simple card:

CTS326Tips, Tricks and Reminders

  • Two New Bundles. My simple card features elements from two new bundles in Stampin’ Up!’s 2019 Annual Catalog that are sure to be on your wish list (if you haven’t already ordered them). The gorgeous tree is cropped with the Sweet Silhouettes Dies that are part of the Silhouette Scenes Bundle. I LOVE this set and was excited to showcase this tree. Here’s a look at the Silhouette Scenes Bundle:Silhouette Scenes Bundle, Stampin' Up! 151058The saying is stamped with a sentiment from Free as a Bird and cropped with a Stitched Nested Labels Die – both are part of the Free as a Bird Bundle. The birds are sweet, the sentiments are beautiful and the dies are versatile to be used with lots of other products. Here’s a look at the Free as a Bird Bundle: Free as a Bird Bundle, Stampin' Up! 151123The Seaside Spray backdrop is cropped with a Stitched Rectangles Die for just another touch of stitching.
  • Selective Gluing. This intricate tree cutout is designed to create a silhouette of the tree. Rather than glue everything down so that it’s flat to the card front, I selectively glued down branches and leaves to allow the tree to be firmly affixed but to still pop off the page.Sweet Silhouettes Dies, Free as a Bird Bundle, Stampin' Up!, Brian KingI selected the Stitched Rectangle Die for my backdrop to further allow the branches and leaves to pop off the edge. I positioned the sentiment at the base of the tree to balance everything on the panel.
  • Color Combination. It’s been a while since I’ve used Shaded Spruce, so I wanted to showcase it on my card today – that was my starting point. The new 2019 In Color, Seaside Spray, made sense for a beautiful, soft backdrop that would allow the deep green tree to pop. I added a neutral base of Crumb Cake to bring both of these colors together. If you like this combination of Seaside Spray, Crumb Cake and Shaded Spruce, please save this:Stampin' Up!
