You’ve Really Outdone Yourself

I love bright, cheery colors – and I think they shine even more when paired with soft colors. Pool Party is always a great option to help these bright colors shine – it’s a real team player. I’ve been chomping at the bit to cut up and showcase a beautiful, striped pattern from the Bird Ballad Designer Series Paper, and this week’s Paper Players sketch gave me the perfect opportunity. Here’s my card:

  • Gorgeous Paper. One of the things I love most about Stampin’ Up!’s Designer Series Papers is how versatile they are. Even though both panels on this card are from the Bird Ballad Designer Series Paper, these pages don’t have pictures of birds (edit: the yellow background piece has little bird feet that could be a fun pattern if you didn’t know it was from a bird-themed pack of papers). Here’s a look at the colors and patterns in the Bird Ballad Designer Series Paper:Bird Ballad Designer Series Paper, Stampin' Up! 2019 Annual Catalog, 149592How gorgeous is the striped panel of Bird Ballad Designer Series Paper that is the top panel of this card?! Pool Party, Daffodil Delight, Calypso Coral, Petal Pink and Old Olive are an amazing combination for these watercolored stripes.
  • Sweetly Swirled. While the beautiful papers provide a gorgeous backdrop for this card, the layering of a large heart (Calypso Coral cardstock cropped with the Stitched Be Mine Dies) and sentiment (Pool Party cardstock cropped with the Everyday Label) are the stars of the show. Here’s a closer look:Sweetly Swirled, Bird Ballad Designer Series Paper, Stampin' Up!, Brian KingThe sentiment is from Sweetly Swirled stamp set, a new photopolymer stamp set that’s filled with great sentiments and a mix of circles and ovals. What better way to say “thank you” than to say “you’ve really outdone yourself”? Here’s a look at Sweetly Swirled:Sweetly Swirled, Stampin' Up! 149254
  • Sweet Color Combination. The colors on my card are pulled right from the gorgeous Bird Ballad Designer Series Paper. I couldn’t love this combination of colors more.
