Soft Spring for GDP197

Simple things can be so beautiful. Since the moment I first held Stampin’ Up!’s 2019 Annual Catalog in my hands, I couldn’t wait to ink up Soft Spring, a new Two-Step Stampin’ Host Stamp Set. The flowers are so soft and artistically drawn. I knew they would be perfect for this week’s Global Design Project color challenge, so I had the perfect reason to ink up this gorgeous set. Here’s my simple, layered card:

And here’s the banner for the challenge that inspired my card:

Stampin' Up! Color Inspiration - Seaside Spray, Terracotta Tile, Pear PizzazzTips, Tricks and Reminders

  • Soft Spring. With purchases greater than $150, customers earn Stampin’ Rewards that can be used to purchase ANY current items in the current catalogs (you don’t have to host a party to earn the rewards). One of the perks of earning Stampin’ Rewards is that you can use them to purchase specially-priced Host Sets. The stamp set I used on today’s card is one of the new Host Sets from Stampin’ Up!’s 2019 Annual Catalog – here’s a look at Soft Spring:Soft Spring Host Set, Stampin' Up! 149429The “thank you” sentiment on my card is stamped with Tuxedo Black Memento ink on Seaside Spray cardstock and cropped with the Classic Label punch. I love this sentiment from Memorable Mosaic – it looks like it’s been tiled right onto my card. Here’s a look at Memorable Mosaic:Memorable Mosaic, Stampin' Up! 149226
  • New Embossing Folders. Have you seen all the new Embossing Folders in Stampin’ Up!’s 2019 Annual Catalog (if not, you can  check them out here. You might not see it on the first photo where all the Terracotta Layers run together, but I lightly embossed this layer of Woven Threads Designer Series Paper with one of my favorite new folders – the Brick & Mortar 3D Embossing Folder. Here’s a closer look at some of the texture from the folder:Brick & Mortar 3D Embossing Folder, Stampin' Up!, Brian KingWhile you’ll want the new 3D Embossing Folder Plate to use this folder with cardstock, I didn’t use the plate to give my Designer Series Paper a light touch of the embossed image. Here’s a look at the pattern in this embossing folder. It’s absolutely gorgeous!Brick & Mortar 3D Embossing Folder, Stampin' Up! 149643
  • Four Layers of Terracotta Tile. Would you believe there are SIX layers on this card?! Even with the cleanest, simplest design, I know how to add layers and layers of paper. 🙂 Starting with the base, this card features four layers of Terracotta Tile. While I would normally force the layers to POP with white (or some accent color), I really wanted the flower to take center stage. As such, the Terracotta Tile layers blend together beautifully to build a solid base for this simple layer and sentiment.

Stamp Sets: Soft Spring, Memorable Mosaic Papers: Woven Threads Designer Series Paper, Terracotta Tile, Seaside Spray, Thick Whisper White Inks: Memento Tuxedo Black, Seaside Spray, Pear Pizzazz Accessories: Brick & Mortar 3D Embossing Folder, Stitched Rectangle Dies, Stampin’ Dimensionals

I hope you’ll pop over to the Global Design Project site to see the cards by the design team members and to play along with this week’s challenge.

Thanks for stopping by today!
