Just a Little Note with Doily Wishes

Who doesn’t love to receive a for-no-particular-reason card in the mail? “Just a little note” is the perfect Today I’m excited to share a quick-and-easy, but oh-so-sweet card that features a beautiful mix of purples (Highland Heather and Gorgeous Grape) and a combination of a fun stamp with a gorgeous die that surprised even me. Here’s my card:

Check You Out, Doily Wishes Dies, Stampin' Up!, Brian King

Tips, Tricks and Reminders

  • A Doily CASE. I didn’t set out to CASE a card I previously made, but the more I layered and cut things, the more familiar the card felt. I decided to reference the old card and embrace the design similarities. It’s not an exact replica, but it’s close. Here’s a look at the card I shared back in January of this past year: Dear Doily Bundle, Stampin' Up!, Brian KIngSee the similarities? See the differences? I was surprised when I referenced the the original card that it wasn’t all purple. I forgot that I had incorporated the Grapefruit Grove elements. • Wish for It All. The card I shared in January showcased the Dear Doily Bundle that was new in Stampin’ Up!’s 2019 Occasions Catalog. The bundle was a surprise hit for the company, and inventory soon ran low (which, I believe, just catapulted the demand for the bundle) until Stampin’ Up! had to just cancel the bundle. A Wish for it All Bundle, new in Stampin’ Up!’s 2019 Annual Catalog, gives us a smaller (but just as beautifully delicate) doily and some other amazing elements for all kinds of celebrations. The bundle includes the Wish for it All stamp set and Doily Wishes Dies. Here’s a look:Wish for It All Bundle, Stampin' Up! 151054
  • A Perfect, Unexpected Match. There’s no way in a million years I would have started a project with the unlikely pairing of the delicate Doily Wishes dies and the whimsical Check You Out stamp set, but that’s where this perfect sentiment comes from. It goes to show how versatile our stamp sets can be – we can use them even when we don’t know we need them. Here’s a look at this adorable set:Check You Out, Stampin' Up!, 149462The small sentiment says what I want for this card and fits perfectly inside a 1″ Circle punch to fit inside this delightful doily die:Check You Out, Doily Wishes Dies, Stampin' Up!, Brian KingTogether the two feel like they were meant to be together. I layered the 1″ Circle Punch with the smallest circle in the Layering Circles Dies, popped that up on the doily and then popped up the doily on the Whisper White square.
