May Your Heart Find the Peace it Needs

When I need to make an impactful card and don’t have a lot of time to create it, I often start with a Designer Series Paper I love and go from there. Sympathy cards can be difficult to make, and sometimes simplicity is the best. That’s why I reached for Perennial Essence Designer Series Paper and a gorgeous sentiment to make this card for someone in pain. Here’s my card:

Tips, Tricks and Reminders

  • Two New. Three panels on this card are simple patterns of Perennial Essence Designer Series Paper – how easy is that?! The background panel is a faux-texture of Petal Pink (the same pattern is repeated with the sentiment), and the top layer features hand-painted impressionistic imagery. So gorgeous! • Simple Layers. Simple layers are always a sure-thing for a perfect card. A card can take on a brand new look with a different set of papers or with different color layers. Here are the layer measurements for this sweet-and-simple, but still-so-elegant card (starting with the base and working my way toward the top layer):
    • Smoky Slate – 4-1/4″ x 11″ (scored at 5-1/2″)
    • Thick Whisper White – 4″ x 5-1/4″
    • Perennial Essence Designer Series Paper – 3-7/8″ x 5-1/8″
    • Stampin’ Dimensionals
    • Thick Whisper White – 3-1/8″ x 4-3/8″
    • Perennial Essence Designer Series Paper – 3″ x 4-1/4″
    • Stampin’ Dimensionals
    • Vellum Cardstock – 2-1/4″ Circle punch
    • Stampin’ Dimensionals
    • Thick Whisper White – Layering Circles Dies
    • Perennial Essence Designer Series Paper – 1-1/2″ Circle punch
  • Sweet Color Combination. There are so many gorgeous colors in the background of this watercolored paper, but I focused on the Petal Pink flowers that take center stage on this top piece of paper and the textured background on the larger panel. I paired the papers with Whisper White and Smoky Slate. If you like this combination of Whisper White, Petal Pink and Smoky Slate, please save this:Stampin' Up!
