Open if You Dare with Spooktacular Bash

I can’t help myself. I can never turn down an opportunity to play with gorgeous Designer Series Paper, explore a new set of beautiful dies AND build a pun – all at the same time. When I sat down to play with the new products from the Monster Bash Suite in Stampin’ Up!’s 2019 Holiday Catalog, I was bursting at the seams to make this sweet-and-simple notecard-sized card (3-1/2″ x 10″, scored at 5″):

Tips, Tricks and Reminders

  • Monster Bash. The Monster Bash Suite in Stampin’ Up!’s 2019 Holiday Catalog gives you EVERYTHING you need for a super-fun Halloween. To be clear, the suite doesn’t bring trick-or-treaters to your house (I haven’t had a single trick-or-treater for eight years), but you can have lots of fun pretending they’ll be stopping by. Here’s a look at the Spooktacular Bash Bundle:Spooktacular Bash Bundle, Stampin' Up! 153040The set includes the Spooktacular Bash stamp set (lots of super-fun, Halloween-themed images and sentiments) and the Ornate Frames Dies. While these dies coordinate with the images in the set (and some of the images in the coordinating Monster Bash Designer Series Paper), they are GORGEOUS for any occasion.
  • Monster Bash Designer Series Paper. When I shared all of the Designer Series Papers from Stampin’ Up!’s 2019 Holiday Catalog last week (you can see them here), I’m sure the adorable pages of Monster Bash Designer Series Paper were a standout, right? Here’s a look at the colors and patterns in this pack of papers:Monster Bash Designer Series Paper, Stampin' Up! 2019 Holiday Catalog, 150447When I debuted these last week, I also shared a color combination I love from the papers. The combination I chose is represented in my card today, too. Terracotta Tile, Soft Suede and Crushed Curry are all represented on this page of Monster Bash Designer Series Paper:Stampin' Up! • So Punny. I zoomed in on the focal sentiment of this card to show you how gorgeous this die is – and the other three coordinating dies that come together to build a beautiful focal point for this card. Here’s a closer look:Spooktacular Bash Bundle, Monster Bash Designer Series Paper, Stampin' Up!, Brian King, Halloween cardEarlier I mentioned the pun in this card. Did you take a moment to look for it? While “open if you dare” is often associated with a coffin at Halloween, there’s no coffin here. Instead there’s a fun tie-in of this sentiment between two things that also need to be opened (if you dare ) – this card AND the background of books.

  6. Great card (as always) Brian. Halloween cards are my favorite to make and my great, great nieces and nephews LOVE receiving them. We don’t get any trick-or-treaters either but it’s still fun to decorate the outside of the house and send cards for the holiday. I can’t wait to see the new holiday catalog. I’m sure it’s filled with fabulous things.
