Cup of Cocoa & Candy Canes with Cup of Christmas

Don’t you love to wake up on a cold morning and enjoy a hot cup of coffee while the world awakens? Do you love to hold a mug of sweet hot cocoa with both hands while blowing into the mug before each sip? If you (or anyone you love) says, “yes” to either of these questions, then Cup of Christmas is the bundle for you! I made a sweet, layered card with the bundle to show you how sweet it is. Here’s my card:

Tips, Tricks and Reminders

  • Cup of Christmas. I adore this bundle – it’s why I selected it as my favorite Christmas bundle in Stampin’ Up!’s 2019 Holiday Catalog (you can see my entire list here). Not only do I adore the sweet sentiments in this set, but the mugs are pretty cute – and don’t get me started on all the ways to decorate and fill the mugs. 🙂 Here’s a look at the Cup of Christmas Bundle:Cup of Christmas Bundle, Stampin' Up!, 153025AND the stamps for the mugs are double-sided, so you can make a left-handled or right-handled mug with each design. How fun is that?! Not only is this set great for cards, but it’s perfect for tags and gifts, too! Here’s a video from Stampin’ Up! that shows some of the cool elements of this bundle: Cup of Christmas Bundle Video
  • Candy Canes & Holly. I added candy canes and holly to my Christmas mug because…well because I can. Perhaps you don’t want holly IN your cocoa, but it sure looks sweet, doesn’t it? The candy canes are cropped from the Cup of Cheer Dies that coordinate with the Cup of Christmas stamp set. I cropped the solid candy canes with Thick Whisper White and the striped candy canes with Real Red. With just a couple of dots of Tombo Multipurpose Liquid Glue, the red candy canes easily layered over the white. Cup of Christmas Bundle, Stampin' Up!, Brian King, Christmas cardUnless you look closely, you might miss the holly the peeks out of the mug. I cropped the holly pieces from Garden Green – instead of poking out the center pieces, I kept them in and glued them down.
  • Christmas Color Combination. The pattern I used in the background of this card is from the Garden Lane Designer Series Paper, a pack of papers with loads of greens. The pattern reminds me of a Quilted Christmas Designer Series Paper from a couple of years ago, so I knew it would be perfect on a Christmas card.
