Thinking of You at Christmas for GDP206

When I was sorting through all of the papers in Stampin’ Up!’s 2019 Holiday Catalog, one page stood out above the rest. I love the retro-themed Christmas papers found in the Night Before Christmas 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper (there’s so much personality in each page), but I really, really love the page of holly leaves on a Crushed Curry backdrop. I decided to use it to create another card for this week’s sketch challenge at The Global Design Project (you can see my first card here). Here’ my second card for this challenge:

  • Night Before Christmas. I just love flipping through the pages of the Night Before Christmas 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper. I love modern, fresh images as much as the next person, but there are so many memories in this pack of papers that include cookies & milk, Christmas tree farms and a parade of Christmas stockings. Here’s a look at the colors and patterns in this pack of papers:Night Before Christmas 6" x 6" Designer Series Paper, Stampin' Up! 2019 Holiday Catalog, 150437 Want to flip through all the pages in this pack of papers? • Itty Bitty Christmas Greetings. You already know how much I love sentiments, right? It’s easy to build a card around a great sentiment – and I love this gorgeous sentiment from Itty Bitty Christmas. It’s elegant and a sweet thing to say during The Holidays, don’t you think? Here’s a look at the Itty Bitty Christmas Bundle (which includes the Itty Bitty Christmas stamp set and coordinating Christmas Layers Dies):Itty Bitty Christmas Bundle, Stampin' Up! 153019I stamped the sentiment with Cherry Cobbler ink on Whisper White cardstock and cropped it with a 2″ Circle punch. I framed that with Cherry Cobbler cardstock cropped with Layering Circles Dies: Itty Bitty Christmas, Night Before Christmas Designer Series Paper, Stampin' Up!, Brian King
  • Crushed Curry Christmas. I’ve always loved Crushed Curry for Fall- it’s the color of most of the leaves that end up in my yard. I also LOVE that Crushed Curry can be so beautiful for Christmas projects. We saw it in a pack of 6″ x 6″ papers a couple of years ago, but I can’t seem to get over how gorgeous it is in the Night Before Christmas 6″ x 6″ papers. LOVE! If you like this combination of Crushed Curry, Old Olive and Cherry Cobbler as much as I do, please save this:Stampin' Up! Color Inspiration - Crushed Curry, Old Olive, Cherry Cobbler

  2. Such a soft and pretty card Brian, the sentiment really pops! Have a great weekend!

  3. Love your take on the sketch with that beautiful DSP. The Cherry Cobbler sentiment really is an attention-getter. Enjoy your day!

  4. I like Crushed Curry too,but I really don`t turn to it until this time of year.
I agree with Hilda on your comments on the Christmas paper . That`s because I am a “Paper Junkie” and I can identify with different prints being nostalgic in this dsp .
Pretty card and I like that sentiment too.

  5. Great job with the holly background..so festive!

  6. LOVE the fun Crushed Curry look to this holiday card. You nailed this one my friend!

  7. What a great sentiment and really, while addressing our Christmas cards we do think of the individual we are sending it to. It couldn’t be any more appropriate than it is. Love the color combo and I never thought about using Crushed Curry on Christmas cards. See, you learn something every day. Thanks Brian.

  8. This particular DSP print is one that I could use repeatedly. It’s a standout for me in this pack. It’s a great backdrop for your card–all the creative parts of your design are perfect! Love Love Love
