Many of my Stampin’ Up! team members (not only those with blogs) share their gorgeous projects in our team’s Facebook community – there’s such amazing and inspiring creativity in this group! I’m always excited when my team’s blog hop rolls around, though, because I get to share some of their amazing work with you. I’m just as excited to see their projects as you are, and I am proud to share them with you.
Welcome to InKing Royalty’s September Blog Hop! This year’s Blog Hop themes are inspired by a single word – and this month our projects are centered around AUTUMN. There is so much to love about the transition from summer to winter, and we are excited to share our Autumn-themed projects with you today! After you read my post, I hope you’ll hop over to the next person on the list at the base of this post.
Gather Together this Autumn
Autumn starts next week – it’s still in the high 90’s in Atlanta, so we aren’t getting a preview of Autumn. I’ll be so happy when it arrives – it’s my favorite time of year. The leaves are gorgeous right before they fall, and the air is crisp and cool. Ahhh! Autumn. My card for the InKing Royalty Blog Hop features the Gather Together Bundle – beautiful leaves and a sweet sentiment. Here’s my card:
- Gather Together. All of the stamped images on my card today are from the Gather Together Bundle, part of the Come to Gather Suite in Stampin’ Up!’s 2019 Holiday Catalog. I love the leaves, pumpkins and sentiments in this set – many can be used at all times of the year. Here’s a look at the Gather Together Bundle:If you love this bundle as much as I do, you’ll want to check out all the products in the Come to Gather Suite. - Ombré with Overstamping. In July, I shared the projects I created for Louise Sharp’s Stamping by the Sea retreat in Australia. One of those projects featured a technique I call “overstamping” – stamping an image over and over until it creates an abstract background on the project. You can see my “overstamping” post here. I revived the same technique on today’s card with one small twist – I built an ombré by stamping this leaf over and over on the Very Vanilla panel. On top of the Terracotta Tile leaf pattern, I created a collage of a leaf (stamped on a page from Woven Threads Designer Series Paper, a sentiment cropped with the Tailored Tag Punch and two snips of Terracotta Tile 1/2″ Scalloped Linen Ribbon for added texture.
- Autumn Colors. I’m so in love with Terracotta Tile – it’s a softer version of Cajun Craze but not as orange as Pumpkin Pie. Regardless of where it falls in the color spectrum, it’s perfect for Fall. I pulled a background panel of Terracotta Tile paper from Woven Threads Designer Series Paper that I also used for the leaf on the front of the card. Here’s a look at the colors and patterns in the Woven Threads Designer Series Paper:If you like this mix of Very Vanilla, Sahara Sand and Terracotta Tile as much as I do, please save this for future reference:
Bundles: Gather Together Stamp Sets: Gather Together Papers: Woven Threads Designer Series Paper, Terracotta Tile, Sahara Sand, Thick Very Vanilla Inks: Terracotta Tile Accessories: Gathered Leaves Dies, Tailored Tag Punch, Terracotta Tile 1/2″ Scalloped Linen Ribbon, Stampin’ Dimensionals

I love the overstamping technique that you showed before, but especially in the ombré. And I don’t think I’ve seen you use ribbon very often, but it is the perfect touch here. Gorgeous card
I love ribbon, but you’re right – I don’t use it a lot. Was happy to have this ribbon, though, as it worked with the other elements of my card. Thank you so much for your kind comments, Linda! ♥
I love the background technique you created! This is a favorite set of mine as well. The piece of ribbon is a great final touch.
Thanks, Jackie! I love Fall, so it’s easy to love this set. Glad you like it. ♥
Look at you, Brian, breaking out the ribbon! Beautiful!
Ha! I knew that would get me some comments, Dawn. 🙂
The background is so striking and I love the simple layers to give the sentiment an artful twist!
Thanks, Mary! I had as much fun layering the sentiment as I did building that background. Glad you like it! ♥
Beautiful card Brian. I’m also in love with terra-cotta tile. I was leery at first but found it is just beautiful.
Thanks, Lynn! It’s such a beautiful color that can go dark or light. Love that!
Gorgeous background you created! I also like that touch of ribbon!
Thanks, Windy! I patted myself on the back for using ribbon (even though it was only two little pieces). 🙂
Beautifully done Brian, I love your color choices.
🙂 Thank you so much, Robbye! I’m in love with Terracotta Tile, so it was a great place to start.
Terracotta Tile is a perfect color for AUTUMN. You nailed this one my friend.
Thanks, Kadie! I am going to be using Terracotta A LOT over the next couple of years. ♥
Love the color combination you used on this pretty fall card. Your overstamping technique is perfect for this card. Have a great day!
Thank you so much, Hilda! I so love Terracotta Tile and was happy with how the overstamping turned out. Hope your day is great! ♥
Beautiful card Brian. I love the muted effect of the terracotta, and I love your overstamped background.
Thank you so much, Linda! I had no idea what I was going to make for this hop, but I had a lot of fun with it. ♥
Lovely card, B! So many details, but so subtle. Love the overstamping ombré.
Thank you so much, Candy! ♥ I love Terracotta Tile – so easy and fun to play with.
Such gorgeousness! I love how you used the stamp for the background. And there’s even a bit of ribbon. Very nice!
Thank you, Susan! I really had fun with this one – and the ribbon was so exciting since I don’t normally use it. 🙂
Love, love, love, love, love this one Brian!!!! ‘nuf said! LOL
Thank you so much, Grace! 🙂
