Nature’s Beauty for CTS340

It’s not often I make a black-and-white card, but I wanted the simplicity of the opposing tones for the sweet card I made for this week’s CAS(E) This Sketch challenge. Here’s my card:

Nature's Beauty, Merry Moose, Stampin' Up!, Brian KingAnd here’s the sketch for the challenge that inspired my card:

CTS340Tips, Tricks and Reminders

  • Nature’s Beauty and Merry Moose. If you flipped through all the pages of Stampin’ Up!’s 2019 Holiday Catalog, you might have missed Nature’s Beauty because this gorgeous stamp set is featured on the back page of the catalog. A deer, a fox, a rabbit, trees, a branch and some snow – these sketched images are at the heart of this beautiful stamp set. Here’s a look at Nature’s Beauty:  Nature's Beauty, Stampin' Up! 150528In addition to having a gorgeous stamp set, $3 of each stamp set sold will be given to mental health organizations by Stampin’ Up!. Here’s a closer look at the deer that’s front-and-center on my card: Nature's Beauty, Merry Moose, Stampin' Up!, Brian KingBelow the deer is a sentiment that is perfect with this solitary deer. The sentiment is from the Merry Moose stamp set, part of the Merry Moose Bundle: Merry Moose Bundle, Stampin' Up! 153015
  • Unexpected Backdrop. The sentiment below the deer is not a stretch as the stamp also comes from a nature-themed Christmas stamp set. The gorgeous black-and-white paper is from a less obvious pack of papers for a Christmas card. This page is found in the Monster Bash Designer Series Paper in Stampin’ Up!’s 2019 Holiday Catalog. It’s gorgeous, right? Here’s a look at the colors and patterns in this pack of papers:Monster Bash Designer Series Paper, Stampin' Up! 2019 Holiday Catalog, 150447I used another page from Monster Bash for a non-Halloween card last week. • Layers. My card is so simple, but these layers are so easy to replicate with almost any combination of images and sentiments. Here are the measurements for the panels on my card:
    • Basic Black – 4-1/4″ x 11″ (scored at 5-1/2″)
    • Monster Bash Designer Series Paper – 4″ x 5-1/4″
    • Stampin’ Dimensionals
    • Basic Black – 3-1/8″ x 4-1/2″
    • Thick Whisper White – 3″ x 4-3/8″ (cropped with Stitched Rectangle Dies)

Stamp Sets: Nature’s Beauty, Merry Moose  Papers: Monster Bash Designer Series Paper, Basic Black, Thick Whisper White  Inks: Memento Tuxedo Black  Accessories: Stitched Rectangle Dies, Stampin’ Dimensionals

I hope you’ll pop over to the CAS(E) This Sketch site to see the cards by the design team members and to play along with this week’s challenge.

  12. Beautiful card! I love the Nature’s Beauty set. I don’t do Halloween, so I would never have known I was missing that lovely paper. SU really needs to offer that in a variety of colors. Now I will have to find a suitable substitute in my paper stash. ?
