Happiest of Holidays with Snow Front

Today’s card plays off the “snowy silence” of yesterday’s card. I love the stillness of a snowy winter – probably because I don’t have to live through it. 🙂 We get snow in Atlanta every once in a while, but we don’t spend weeks holed up in the house during winter. I reached for the Snow Front stamp set to build a simple scene. Here’s my 4-1/4″ square card:

  • Snow Front. Stampin’ Up!’s Waterfront stamp set introduced us to a builder stamp set with a watercolored look –  Waterfront is still featured in Stampin’ Up!’s 2019 Annual Catalog. The 2019 Holiday Catalog introduces us to Snow Front, which gives us some great Holiday-themed images that are perfect for building great landscapes. Here’s a look at the Snow Front photopolymer stamp set:Snow Front, Stampin' Up! 150483Stampin’ Up! has given some great inspiration for this stamp set with samples in the Holiday Catalog. Here’s a look at how versatile and fun this set can be (in combination with some other great sets): Snow Front, Stampin' Up! samples
  • Oval Frame. Instead of building a large scene with this stamp set, I made a small scene and cropped it with a small die from the Layering Ovals Dies. Instead of leaving it there, I cropped an oval from a larger die and cropped the inside out with a smaller die to create a thin frame. I glued the frame down and then popped up the Whisper White oval, letting the patterned Designer Series Paper show through. • Color Combination. Say this five times fast – “Soft Suede, Seaside Spray, Shaded Spruce.” You couldn’t do it, could you? I wouldn’t have thought to pair Seaside Spray with Shaded Spruce until they ended up together by accident on my stamp table. I love the contract of the two – such a gorgeous clash. And of course both look great with the warm Soft Suede. If you like this combination of Soft Suede, Seaside Spray and Shaded Spruce, please save this: Stampin' Up! 10. I absolutely love the way you made a frame and then popped up the oval with the cabin scene so that the DSP showed through. Needless to say this has become one of my favorite sets of all time and the little cabin is so very easy to fussy cut. I love being snowed in during the winter, it gives me time to really enjoy crafting.
