Christmas Cheer with a Pine Punch

You are not seeing double. After I created yesterday’s card with the Gleaming Ornaments cutout, I liked the layout so much that I created a second card with a different punch and a different sheet of the Brightly Gleaming Specialty Designer Series Paper but all the same elements as the first card. Here’s my CASE of my card that was inspired by this week’s Global Design Project sketch challenge:

  • Pine Punch & Itty Bitty Christmas. Yesterday’s project was pulled mostly from the Brightly Gleaming Suite. While today’s card features a different page of the same pack of papers and the same copper Star Designer Element, the punch gives this project an entirely new look. Here’s a look at the Perfectly Plaid Bundle (which includes the Perfectly Plaid photopolymer stamp set and the Pine Tree punch): Perfectly Plaid Bundle, Stampin' Up!, 151143The punch works well on its own, but you are going to need both, so you might as well get 10% of both the set and the punch. ♥ Both cards feature a sentiment from the Itty Bitty Christmas stamp set. • Peek-a-Boo. I punched the tree in the Real Red cardstock and again in the Thick Whisper White. I knew they wouldn’t be perfectly aligned with one another (and they were too thick to run through the punch together), so I carved away at the hole in the Thick Whisper White panel until it didn’t peek around the edges of the tree. The tree shape gives a lovely peek-a-boo to the paper beneath the two panels. Brightly Gleaming, Itty Bitty Christmas, Pine Tree Punch, Stampin' Up!, Brian KingI stamped “Christmas Cheer” from Itty Bitty Christmas on a 1/2″ strip of Thick Whisper White and attached it along the edge of the tree. I added a copper star from the Star Designer Elements to the top of the tree for a perfectly coordinated embellishment. I love the coordination of Stampin’ Up!’s suites!
  • Color Combination. The card I shared yesterday combined the rich and sophisticated Merry Merlot and Pretty Peacock with touches of copper foil. The colors on today’s card are more traditional to Christmas – with the same touches of copper, this card pulls together Mossy Meadow and Real Red in a fun combination. If you like this mix of Copper Foil, Mossy Meadow and Real Red, please save this for future reference: Stampin' Up! Color Inspiration - Copper Foil, Mossy Meadow, Real Red

Stamp Sets: Itty Bitty Christmas  Papers: Brightly Gleaming Specialty Designer Series Paper, Merry Merlot, Thick Whisper White  Inks:  Pretty Peacock  Accessories: Star Designer Elements, Gleaming Ornaments Punch Pack, Stampin’ Dimensionals

I hope you’ll pop over to the Global Design Project site to see the cards by the design team members and to play along with this week’s challenge.

Thanks for stopping by today!
