Country Home for FabFri176

I can always work with three colors – four takes me out of my comfort zone a bit. Sometimes that helps me to make something I, otherwise, would never have made. That makes me happy. The color challenge at FabFriday that kicks off today features the quirky quartet of Pretty Peacock, Terracotta Tile, Blushing Bride and Crushed Curry. I have been itching to ink up Country Home, so these colors gave me exactly what I needed to do so. Yay! Here’s my card for FabFri176:

  • Country Home. Country Home is a photopolymer stamp set that was introduced in Stampin’ Up!’s 2018 Holiday Catalog. The images have a very “country” feel to them (I ain’t got nuthin’ against a little country), but the sentiments and wonderfully modern, crisp and perfect for this time of year. What a great stamp set! Here’s a look: Country Home, Stampin' Up! 147678Here are four projects I have made with images or sentiments from the Country Home stamp set (you can click on each picture to see the original post for each one):Country Home, Stampin' Up!, Brian King Country Home, Buffalo Check, Sweetly Stitched Framelits Dies, Stampin' Up!, Brian King, GDP159 Country Home, Stampin' Up!, Brian King  All-Around Wreath Dies, Ornate Frames Dies, Country Home, Stampin' Up!, Brian King
  • Papers. Not only does my card feature an image and sentiment from Country Home, but it also pulls together two pages from two papers you wouldn’t expect to pair with one another. I love working with Stampin’ Up!’s Designer Series Papers and often reach for them with color challenges – such a great starting point or finishing accent! The base of my central panel is a Pretty Peacock page from Woven Threads Designer Series Paper. Here’s a look at the colors and patterns in the Woven Threads Designer Series Paper: Woven Threads Designer Series Paper, Stampin' Up! 149497The Crushed Curry band of stars is from the Night Before Christmas 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper. What fun! Here’s a look at the colors and patterns in this festive pack of papers:Night Before Christmas 6" x 6" Designer Series Paper, Stampin' Up! 2019 Holiday Catalog, 150437
  • Two Black Inks. This is entirely evident by looking at my card, but I used two black inks to stamp the image of the jug and floral arrangement. I stamped the jug in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink so that I could color it with my Smoky Slate Stampin’ Blends (Memento is a perfect ink for alcohol-based Stampin’ Blends). I stamped the floral arrangement with StazOn Jet Black Ink so that I could color the leaves and flowers with a Blender Pen and classic inks (StazOn is a perfect ink for watercoloring). Here’s a closer look: Country Home, Stampin' Up!, Brian KingI stamped both images on Thick Whisper White and cropped them out with my Brother Scan-n-Cut. There are no dies or punches that coordinate with this image (I prefer dies and punches), so my Scan-n-Cut worked just fine.
