Heartfelt Sympathy with Christmas Rose

The Christmastime is Here Suite is quite amazing – there are so many great elements in these coordinated products. I’ve used these products to make a Christmas card and a wedding card (both are shown below with links to the original posts). For today’s project, I’ve made a sympathy card with these gorgeous roses. Here’s my card:

Tips, Tricks and Reminders

  • Christmastime is Here. The rose images in the Christmas Rose stamp set and Christmastime is Here Specialty Designer Series Paper are so versatile. While there are definitely pine cones and sprays of pine behind each flower arrangement, they can be used throughout the year for various occasions. The Christmastime Is Here Suite Bundle includes the following:
    • Christmas Rose Stamp Set (10% off)
    • Roses Dies (10% off)
    • Christmastime Is Here Specialty Designer Series Paper
    • Gold 1/4″ (6.4 mm) Shimmer Ribbon
    • Gold Glitter Enamel Dots
    • Charming Rose Bracelet (that’s right – jewelry)
  • Woven Heirlooms. The sentiment on the front of this card is such a gorgeous one – “Prayers and heartfelt sympathy are with you and your family.” Doesn’t that say just about everything you want to say in a sad situation when you want to support someone you love? Here’s a look at the Woven Heirlooms cling stamp set:Woven Heirlooms, Stampin' Up!, 149306I stamped this sentiment with Whisper White Craft Ink and sprinkled it with White Stampin’ Emboss Powder. The slow-drying pigment ink captures the Stampin’ Emboss Powder sprinkles and gives me a white foundation where some may have been missed. The sentiment almost looks etched into this black cardstock, don’t you think? Christmas Rose, Woven Heirlooms, Stampin' Up!, sympathy card
  • Color Combination. Today’s card didn’t start as a sympathy card, but all of those bright colors (Poppy Parade, Old Olive and Pool Party) looked so amazing against a backdrop of black. I have two favorite color combinations from this card I want to share with you today. The first is this combination of Old Olive, Poppy Parade and Basic Black:Stampin' Up! Color Inspiration - Old Olive, Poppy Parade, Basic BlackThe second color combination I love is the mix of Pool Party, Poppy Parade and Old Olive featured in the colors of the flowers: Stampin' Up!
