So Proud of You with Praiseworthy Prose

There are so many ways to share in the joy of someone else’s success. We typically think of “so very proud of you” as something we’d say to a child, but it’s possible to beam with pride for grown adults when they succeed, too. This week’s Global Design Project Well Done theme challenge was perfectly timed with a card I made for a friend who recently reached an amazing milestone in her career. Here’s my card:

Praiseworthy Prose, Royal Peacock, Stitched Stars Dies, Stampin' Up!, Brian KingAnd here’s the banner for the challenge that inspired my card: GDP215Tips, Tricks and Reminders

  • Praiseworthy Prose. The background on this “well done” card is filled with definitions of some celebratory words and phrases found in the Praiseworthy Prose stamp set. The words I chose are celebrate, cheerful, way to go and friendship. I stamped them in a random pattern that mimics herringbone a bit. I alternated between the sentiments, stamping them in various directions to create a fun pattern. Here’s a look at the background pattern on this card:Praiseworthy Prose, Royal Peacock, Stitched Stars Dies, Stampin' Up!, Brian KingAnd here’s a look at the Praisewothy Prose Bundle (which includes the Praiseworthy Prose stamp set and coordinating Hand-Lettered Prose Dies): Praiseworthy Prose Bundle, Stampin' Up! 151077
  • Two more Bundles. The other sentiments on this card (“So very proud of you” and “You did it!”) are from the Royal Peacock Bundle. Such a great bundle for celebrating others! Here’s a look at the Royal Peacock Bundle (which includes the Royal Peacock stamp set and coordinating Detailed Peacock Dies):Royal Peacock Bundle, Stampin' Up!, 151100Here’s a closer look at this front-and-center sentiment: Praiseworthy Prose, Royal Peacock, Stitched Stars Dies, Stampin' Up!, Brian KingThe sentiment is surrounded by three stitched stars to show the explosion of pride I have for my friend. They were the perfect accent for this card. • Celebratory Color Combination. I knew that two over-the-top colors would play well for this celebratory card – Pineapple Punch and Poppy Parade. These two colors needed to be grounded a bit, though, so I added in Balmy Blue, a soft blue with a subtle brightness to it (if that even makes any sense at all). If you like this mix of Pineapple Punch, Poppy Parade and Balmy Blue, please save this for future reference:Stampin' Up! Color Inspiration - Pineapple Punch, Poppy Parade, Balmy Blue

I hope you’ll pop over to the Global Design Project site to see the cards by the design team members and to play along with this week’s challenge.
