Hoot Hoot Hooray

Sometimes we can’t celebrate our friends enough – because they are so awesome! This week’s Global Design Project Well Done theme challenge was perfectly timed because I have incredible friends who do incredible things – and I’m super-proud of them this week. Here’s my simple “Hoot Hoot Hooray” card:

Tips, Tricks and Reminders

  • Hoot Hoot Hooray. How cute is this owl?! You might be scratching your head and wondering, “Is this a brand new stamp set? Can I purchase it right this very minute?” I’m happy to share that you CAN purchase this stamp set right now. Here’s a look at Hoot Hoot Hooray:Hoot Hoot Hooray, Stampin' Up! 149352How cute is this set? This stamp set is part of a pamphlet that was created earlier this year. While the stamps are designed for beginners, they are perfect for everyone. • Paper Piecing. I love a little paper-piecing every once in a while. I always love to repeat a pattern from the base of the card on a top layer of the card – such a fun look. I stamped the adorable owl on the Bird Ballad Designer Series Paper and again on Crumb Cake. I snipped him out of the Crumb Cake and glued that on top of the image I’d stamped on the Designer Series Paper. Here’s a closer look: Hoot Hoot Hooray, Stampin' Up!, Brian KingAre you rolling your eyes at me, Mr. Owl?! Of course not! I added two Assorted Googly Eyes (they come in Crushed Curry, Granny Apple Green, Gorgeous Grape and white) by simply adding a little Tombow Multipurpose Liquid Glue to the center of the owl’s eyes and then adding the eyes.
  • Color Combination. I’ve always loved the combination of Daffodil Delight and Pool Party – there’s something so beautiful about the mix of bright yellow and soft blue. The Daffodil Delight panel is from the Bird Ballad Designer Series Paper (perfect for an owl, don’t you think?).
