Peaceful Boughs for the InKing Royalty Blog Hop

Many of my Stampin’ Up! team members (not only those with blogs) share their gorgeous projects in our team’s Facebook community – there’s such amazing and inspiring creativity in this group! I’m always excited when my team’s blog hop rolls around, though, because I get to share some of their amazing work with you. I’m just as excited to see their projects as you are, and I am proud to share them with you.

Welcome to InKing Royalty’s December Blog Hop! This year’s Blog Hop themes are inspired by a single word – and this month our projects are centered around CHRISTMAS. It’s a wonderful time of year, and we are having lots of fun with our Christmas-themed projects. We are so excited to share them with you today! After you read my post, I hope you’ll hop over to the next person on the list at the base of this post.

Peaceful Boughs

With select items retiring from Stampin’ Up!’s 2019 Holiday Catalog in just a couple of weeks, I wanted to focus on a gorgeous bundle that hasn’t really gotten a lot of love (despite its beauty). The Peaceful Boughs Bundle is retiring (both the Peaceful Boughs and coordinating Beautiful Boughs Dies are carrying forward when this catalog ends, but the bundled pricing goes away). Here’s a sweet-and-simple card I made for this InKing Royalty Blog Hop:

Peaceful Boughs Bundle, Stampin' Up!, Brian King

Tips, Tricks and Reminders

  • Peaceful Boughs. The Peaceful Boughs Bundle features a gorgeous stamp set with detailed pine boughs, pine cones and beautiful sentiments. There’s even a gorgeous stamp of dots that can be used for snow or added texture. I only used the stamp set on this simple project, but I want you to pay attention to the entire bundle – these products work so well together. Here’s a look at the Peaceful Boughs Bundle: Peaceful Boughs Bundle, Stampin' Up! 153033While the large rectangle die in the Beautiful Boughs Dies can beautifully frame the sentiment in this set, I wanted to try it with an oval from the Stitched Shapes Dies so that my entire card wouldn’t feel so “boxy.” I love the rectangular die, but I was so happy with the oval shape on this card.
  • A Beautiful Backdrop. I used the largest bough stamp to build a backdrop for my sentiment. Not only did I stagger the placement of the boughs on the Whisper White panel and change the direction of the branches, but I also intermittently stamped them off on scrap paper to give depth of the branches. Here’s a closer look at this gorgeous sentiment and the backdrop that provides such a great support for it:Peaceful Boughs Bundle, Stampin' Up!, Brian King
  • Color Combination. While the mix of colors might not be thought of as a traditional Christmas color combination, the three colors work so well together. The softness of Seaside Spray balances so well with the depth of Mossy Meadow. I’m so in love with that combination. If you like this mix of Whisper White, Seaside Spray and Mossy Meadow as much as I do, please save this for future reference:  Stampin' Up!
