The Joy of My Life

Valentine’s Day cards are all about love – romantic love, friendly love and fun love. While the holiday is typically festooned with pinks and reds, Valentine’s Day cards don’t have to be either red or pink – and they don’t have to be dainty.  I used non-traditional colors to make this expression of love:

And here’s the banner for the challenge that inspired my card:

  • Parisian Beauty Bundle. There are so many things to love about the Parisian Beauty Bundle –  there’s something very romantic about Paris, the Eiffel Tower and the super-sweet sentiments in this set. I really love the “You’re the joy of my life” sentiment. While it’s a perfect way to express romantic love, it’s also a perfect sentiment for your children, parents or other loved ones. Who doesn’t like to know that they bring joy into your world?! Here’s a look at the Parisian Beauty Bundle:Parisian Beauty Bundle, Stampin' Up! 153778There are two bundles in this incredible suite of products – and both are worthy of living in your home with you. • Pleased as Punch. Were you wondering where I found the beautiful elements on my card? The hearts and flowers are not part of a stamp set, so…well, they are punched right out of the Pleased as Punch Designer Series Paper, one of the new Product Coordination Release items currently available. Here’s a closer look at the heart and the adorable flowers: Parisian Beauty, Pleased as Punch, Stampin Up!, Brian KingAnd here’s a look at the colors and patterns in the Pleased as Punch Designer Series Paper:Pleased as Punch Designer Series Paper, Stampin Up! 153558The Pleased as Punch Designer Series Paper is gorgeous! The pages coordinated with the Umbrella Builder Punch, Heart Punch Pack, Small Bloom Punch and Tulip Builder Punch. What fun! • Two Color Combinations. My card is relatively simple – with all the Smoky Slate and Pretty Peacock, there are not a lot of colorful elements on the card. Still, two color combinations stood out to me. The trio of flowers pulled from the Pleased as Punch Designer Series Paper are a beautiful mix of Pool Party, Calypso Coral and Crushed Curry. If you like this color combination as much as I do, please save this: Stampin Up! Stamp Sets: Parisian Beauty  Papers: Pleased as Punch Designer Series Paper, Pretty Peacock, Smoky Slate, Thick Whisper White  Inks:  Pretty Peacock  Accessories: Heart Punch Pack, Small Bloom Punch, Layering Squares Dies (used to create the scalloped band just below the sentiment), Stampin’ Dimensionals

I hope you’ll pop over to the CAS(E) This Sketch site to see the cards by the design team members and to play along with this week’s challenge.
