Welcoming Little One with So Very Vellum Specialty

Today I’m sharing the fifth of five new products Stampin’ Up! is introducing into the Sale-a-Bration options starting March 3 (I’ve shared the other four over the last four days, so you can click back to see all of them if you missed any. Today I’m showcasing the So Very Vellum Specialty Designer Series Paper, texture-embossed vellum pages in three soft colors that you can select with a $50 order between March 3 and March 31. The colors are perfectly suited for a variety of projects – I wanted to make a baby card with it. Here’s my card:

  • So Very Vellum. The pack of So Very Vellum Specialty Designer Series Paper (again, you can choose it with a $50 order between March 3 and March 31) comes in three soft, sweet colors – Pool Party, Purple Posy and Soft Sea Foam. Gorgeous, huh? The pack includes six 12″ x 12″ sheets of the vellum paper (2 each of the 3 colors). Here’s a closer look at the patterns and colors in the So Very Vellum Specialty Designer Series Paper: So Very Vellum Specialty Designer Series Paper, Stampin Up! 152313You are going to want to order big in March so you can collect multiples of this pack of papers. I’m making my list now.
  • Paper-Piecing for Baby.  The So Very Vellum Specialty Designer Series Paper provides a soft, textured element on my card that I love very much, but it’s the paper-pieced baby carriage that really steals the show here. Paper-piecing is one of my all-time favorite techniques. I stamped the image on Whisper White and cropped it with a 2″ Circle punch. I also stamped the image on Pool Party cardstock and Petal Pink cardstock, snipping out the carriage and heart. I then glued those elements to the image on white. Here’s a closer look:Witty-cisms, Very Vellum, Magnolia Lane, Stampin Up!, Brian King, baby cardThe baby carriage is one of the sweet (but not-so-witty) stamps from Witty-cisms in Stampin’ Up!’s January – June 2020 Mini Catalog. I used another sentiment from this set on yesterday’s card (you can see that one here). Here’s a look at Witty-cisms:WItty-cisms, Stampin Up! 151686
  • Colors. When making cards for babies, we typically choose blue for boys and pink for girls. If we don’t know the gender of the baby, we go with purples, greens or yellows. I won’t buck the trend that soft colors are great for babies. On my card, though, I balanced  blue AND pink – and I argue it’s perfect for either a boy or a girl. The striped background is a beautiful page from the Magnolia Lane Designer Series Paper in Stampin’ Up!’s 2019 Annual Catalog. Here’s a look at the colors and patterns in this great pack of papers: Magnolia Lane Designer Series Paper, Stampin' Up! 2019 Annual Catalog, 149484This Petal Pink and Whisper White stripe is one of the patterns included in the Magnolia Lane Bulk Designer Series Paper Pack that includes 10 each of 2 double-sized designs – you can see it here.
